For those of you that need hay, this guy has 50/50 mix bales for $3ea..... scott 616-915-3906 he's in belding
guess I should have checked Craigs list before I bought, that sounds like a good deal as the price seems to be going up daily
UGH.

Update on the hostage situation up the road. One woman has been released but several people are still in the home. We've seen several official vehicles go flying up the road. We can see lights from here. I just hope it all stays down there!
Not the kind of excitement you want near your home!! Glad things turned out OK
It belongs to the large dairy farm (Swisslane Dairy). I can't imagine they'd give me the time of day. I'm in Kent Co. btw.

Got the # for Scott in Belding - thanks Momma K. I'll try 'im next. That's not too far.
Are you in Lowell? The guy on Lincoln Lk is $5 a bale, this Scott sounds like a good deal I wouldn't wait to long, like I said Monday I bought for $3.50 a bale and by Wed. he had raised it to $5
We got a lot of rain today, that may help stay the cost a bit if a second cutting looks promising
Hey Momma K, not to steal your thunder but TSC has compresssed bales of Alfalfa on sale for 6 dollars. They are probably about 2 bales(ish). I use it for my rabbits. Good quality. Not sure if all the TSCs have it. In the horse section.
TSC in Lowell has the Alfalfa in winter however the bale I bought last winter was VERY dusty, I wont buy it again.
It was lucky no one was hurt, Hope they get the spill cleaned up fast

We got a good inch or more of rain today, I can get my fence posts in the ground again

the clay was so hard a slight wind blew the fence over, couldn't get the posts in with a hammer

Am I a boy or a girl? I am pulling for pullet... Comb is still on the yellow side, no wattles yet at all either. I think Randy said it was about 2 weeks, so that makes her/him between 5-6 weeks. And is it an SS? There are no white specks at all... Pics taken with the same camera as earlier pictures. Told ya i'd figure it out.

I'm south of Alto. What guy on Lincoln Lake? That's REALLY close. I tried calling Scott in Belding and got voicemail. I can try again tomorrow. The extension service transferred me to Clinton Co.'s extension and weren't at all helpful.

I'll have to try again tomorrow but my schedule is such that I have to get it tomorrow or wait until August.

I'm worried they aren't getting enough to eat and time is not on my side.

That's a golden Campine pullet. Her legs need to be slate though so I would guess maybe a cross breed. Mine are hatched with slate legs and the coloring of the feathers are exactly the same.

Well thank God for that and that nobody was hurt. Just set Jenny's eggs in the bator. Was in looking at my month old black copper Marans. Boy are they getting pretty.
Yayee for eggs! :) Glad they got into the bator and not somebodys tummy ;) heehee

Hey, does anyone on here have Nubian goats? :)

We got our first egg today! The girls are 17 weeks old. I'm pretty sure it's our Isa Brown. I hadn't taken the mesh off the nest boxes yet and my DH found it on the coop floor in a corner. When we took off the mesh the Isa jumped up and started scratching all around in the box and snuggled right down. Huh, didn't expect that little treat today!
