taprock, prayers for you. Sounds like a bit of tough love needed there. Why do so many kids think everything should be just handed to them??
I say go for it! Sounds like a great deal to me. I have heard too many negatives about the LG bators. I loved my hovabator, it was so easy.

I have two Hovabators and an LG. I like my Hovabators, I used them for 10 years when I did the reptile thing. But the LG is more dependable. I just wish I had a turner..and a fan...and...oh hell I just need a big cabinet one LOL

yeah....I'm in the north country. And, erm, if work is as good as I think it'll be tonight (and I probably just jinxed myself there) becase of the weather I don't see how I can say no! I did a quick postage calculation, and it looks like shipping would really be more like $10 for parcel post. So, basically what I'm saying is that I'll let you know in the morning if I have the cash or not. DH's old boss is *supposed* to pay him for his last 2.5 weeks of work today, and if he doesn't I'll have to put all my dollars into making our mortgage payment. And our car insurance bill. Sound like a plan?

The girls that I am watching have the "babies" (Nugget and Noodle) inside. They sleep in the garage and I had it shut when it started to dump from the sky!!! I have little shelters out in the yard for them but they did not keep the water out from this rain. I ran out and found them and brought them up on the porch. I was soaked to the bone even with an umbrella!!
Poor chickidees!
So right now I have house chickens...
CRAZY rain out there! My yard is flooded and the driveway is a river! It is STILL raining!

cats, even indoor cats can carry a lot of infection causing bacteria,,,,, you may need to get some anti-bodices to prevent infection..... DD got clawed by a cat and the Dr. balled her out big time for not coming in

That's fine. Just shoot me a PM when you decide. Haven't been reading here much so I might miss it if you just post. Include your addy and I'll sucker my mom into taking it to work with her (post office) and getting us an exact price on the shipping.

Several years ago I had to go by her house to get to work every day and her house also happened to be on her mail route. I'm terrible about keeping stamps around so I'd just swing by her mailbox in the morning on my way to work, put my mail in, put the flag up and she'd get it on her route and mail them for me. The first time I did it (without telling her I was going to) she thought it was some kind of trick, couldn't figure out who put the flag up on her own mailbox. So now we call her mailbox the magic mailbox, put your unstamped letters in... they magically get mailed. I'll just call her and tell her I need a quote on something that's way too big for the magic mailbox.

I hear ya on the scratched/bit/peed/pooed on thing! Not only have I owned a range of animals... I am a groomer. There is nothing like an angry cat getting a bath and blowdry!!

I can't wait!! When do I break the news to the BF... that I am coming home with MORE chicks!!!!

Y'all have been very busy here! So much hurt shared, and humor. This is a mighty fine group.

I found the back 1/2 of a rabbit between our house and our neighbor's today. I immediately checked our coop - all 3 were okay. Phew. Then I took care of the rabbit remains. Our run is under construction, but I'm wondering if you see any glaring predator issues with our coop, thus far. We've used hardware cloth all over. The window/door is partially open in the photo, but shuts and locks tight normally. The top, tall area will have a hinged door to close up in the winter, and there's some trim to do. But it's almost done. It all fits very nicely in a terraced area, and I'm planning on putting the hardware apron on the outsides of the run. I'm looking for input from predator veterans
