She's probably about 1.5 yr.

Another general question -
what does everyone feed their flocks?? We have been feeding pellets and mash - corn in the winter - as many greens/scraps that I have for the girls - crushed egg shells (roasted in the oven) for calcium and they free range about 5 acres - thanks for the input!

they really don't like the pellets, but they've wasted way tooo much food - we were feeding primarily scratch/cracked corn/candy (treat mix from the grainery) and they would just pick thru until they found the goodies - and everythign else ended up on the floor! hence we've gone to pellets and they'll have to get use to it - appreciate input! I use a layer mix that I either get from the granary in Litchfield, or the farmer near MJ's. I set out calcium source for them to feed freely from. I try to give them vegetable scraps, etc. I give them a couple of handfuls of scratch once in a while, for a treat, but that is about all. I can't free range mine all the day, but try to let them out for a couple of hours each day. ( I have 2 bird dogs that would love to practice with them!)

sorry it took so long...a neighbor dropped by with her grandchild and wanted to see the animals, so we went for a little tour.
