I sure hope I can see into my eggs, too.

They sure are dark, though.

Thanks for the compliment, Crystal. I'm selling a few of my other cochins to concentrate on my mottleds and frizzles. I'd love to get a frizzled mottled...I think that would just be too cool.

Have you ever noticed some mornings it tougher to get up and going? Think the coffee is ready if anyone wants a cup.
I got new chicks coming. Babsboys has generously offered to coordinate splitting an order, so tomorrow I will be meeting with her to pick up my new Vorwerks. I'm not sure which I am most excited by, the new chicks or meeting one more BYCer. This is just one more example of the spirit of cooperation that exists in our community.

Opa -- if that's what you look like BEFORE the coffee, keep drinking it!!

And send some my way! Boy I could use it. Was suppose to go scouting for turkeys this morning, its raining! Which is better then Snow! If all goes well, the eggs should start to pip today. i have a feeling I fried them though. At least there's only 4 eggs. The chicks I picked up are growing fast. Next weekish I can move the BO out to their coop.

Morning all!

For the last several years I have had 40-50 turkeys that come into my yard several times a day. They show up in early December and disappear one week before the season opens. Fortunately I have access to a 130 acre farm from which I have been able to always get my bird.

It is nice to see other 4-H'ers here. My daughter does dog 4-H as well. Do you ever go to the state 4-H dog show at MSU? It is such a blast. I just love it. My daughter is 18 now, so this will be her last year. Such a bummer.

We have never been to the state dog show. This is only our second year in dog 4-H. My oldest is 10 and is the most active in 4-H--we will also be doing chickens and horse this year. My ds-8 and dd-6 are still cloverbuds and they like to mostly just play at the meetings. My dd showed her beagle last year and will probably show her again this year. If she would get focused on working with our aussie I think she would have alot of fun showing him, but he is a bit of a handful sometimes--he only 3.

my daughter shows a Jack Russel Terrier. I have offered her the use of my border collie, she tried her out, but she really likes her little Rizzo. We started when she was 12 and adopted the little the dog. Here is a link to their 4-H page. http://www.youngexplorers.net/Dogs/rizzo.htm

I have to say, that I think I have enjoyed it more than she has. hahaha. she has shown rabbits(did not like it) and pigs. she has liked that. So this year she is showing her dog and 2 pigs. and then whatever still exhibits she wants to. I can not for the life of me to get her to show my chickens. But I have a plan. I have a 3 month old grandson who is going to love chickens. I already got him his very own wheel barrow. lol.

Good morning everyone! Our family had a really nice afternoon and evening with MJ's family. MJ and I drove over to see Gayle (Frizzledhen). We had such a nice time! Gayle is one of the kindest people you will meet. Her birds are gorgeous. I love to go to her place! The chickens all look like they have had shampoo, conditioner and blow dry, lol. I don't know how she does it! I think I take pretty good care of my birds, but after I see hers, I go home thinking, "what the heck does she do to get feathers like that?"!!! I think MJ will be posting some pictures of some of them.... If you ever get the chance to see her Cochins and RIRs, don't pass it up!

Wow---Rizzo rocks!!! That is so great, what all your daughter has accomplished with him. http://www.millingtoncanines.com/ is the link to our 4-H site----I think it's fun to see what is going on with other groups. You'll be able to see a pic of my dd and Betsy the beagle. I, too, think I love 4-H more than the kids do. Being a SAHM for over a decade I love getting out and socializing at the meetings. We've been blessed with a nice group of both parents and kids in both 4-H's (dog and horse) so I look forward to going to the meetings too!! I am glad you have a future little chicken wrangler all ready lined up for 4-H. Only 5 more years and he can start in cloverbuds

Good morning all-------I am drinking my coffee too, trying to wake up. I, would, however like to slip some sleepy juice to my kids----it's one of those mornings where sibling rivalry and the bickering that goes along with it is in full bloom. Is it a full moon cycle or something?

Hopefully things will improve after church.

Opa-----you will enjoy meetings Babs. I have know her for a couple of years and she is a neato lady----a lot of fun to be around
