I'm not sure I'm doing this right. I just registered for BYC and am glad to see all the people who have (in my husbands words!) WAY too many animals. MY kids do 4-H and we show rabbits ARBA. We raise black langshans, bantam buff, black and blue (just got our first babies) orpingtons, d'anvers chickens. We also raise rabbits, have 3 horses, two cats, one dog (a corgi) and pigeons. Opps, forgot Bob and Nichole (two african geese). WE live in SE MI, (ALmont). Does anyone in MI have a bantam buff orpington rooster for sale????

Welcome bunnymom!! I live in the thumb, but I have a clue where Almont is. Isn't that where the big horse store is that I dream of going to? I, also, got bantam blue orps from Michelle---they are way toooo lovely. We got them for oldest dd for 4-H. You will enjoy hanging out and gabbing with this motely bunch on here-----it's a fun crowd of really nice folks.

ETA: We have been having a little conversation about 4-H on here today----there are several 4-H families on here. What do your kids show? Mine do dog, horse, now poultry along with the usual crafty/arty/foodie/planty stuff.

I haven't been too active on this thread but I have been watching it a lot and really enjoy that so many people like chickens in Michigan. I have had chickens for over a year now and am getting my feet wet by hatching and raising as many chickes to see what breeds I like.
My favorite are my little Lavendar Bantam Ameraucanas. I wanted to also see about a cold hardy, brown egg, heavy bodied, large fowl so my friend and I ordered 100 plus pulletts of 6 different breeds. They have grown a bunch and we have enjoyed many hours watching them.
Well now we are going to sell the birds we do not want to keep.
We have several Easter eggers pulletts and three pure breed Ameraucana roosters one black and two blues They and all our pure bred Ameraucanas are from John's birds. I have a pair of Lavendar Bantams Ameraucanas hatched March 4th
2 pairs of lavendar bantams 1 year old
I also have two trio's of barred Rocks
1 trio of silver laced wyandittes
4 black Australorps pulletts
4 white rock pulletts
2 blue cochin pulletts

All these bird are going to the bird swap at Imlay city on April 25
these birds have grown like crazy and are very large. They were hatched Feb 2009 (except the pure breed Ameraucanas)

These will make very nice birds for 4-H or some one who wants a nice cold hardy backyard flock. They have a very good start and they are marek's vaccinated
Here is a good chance to find some started birds with the guess work taken care of. you can go through and pick some nice birds knowing they have developed enough to see what they will be like.

We Live in Grand Ledge which is 10 miles west of lansing. Friday April 24 we will be going through the birds and picking out the ones we will be taking so if some one wants to pick some birds before we leave then would be the time.

Hey MJ,

I was looking at the dollhouse coop on your website, im interested in one but I was wondering if you would be able to deliver it? Looks like that big boy would need to strapped down in a trailer or be thrown in pickup.
