awesome about the bikes!

yes...that is the yeast i use. it is instant yeast. you use 1/4 less than any recipe calls for.

it is WAY cheaper too! i love it. works awesome.

Okay -- thanks! I'll have to get some this week. Bought my second jar from Meijer. Just doesn't last long if you're making bread as often as I have been. Just add that to my list for Sam's.

Coffee is on and the day is slowly getting started. I need to get out and let the birds out of the tractors coop but the coffee is going down to good to leave the table for a bird.

It's pretty gloomy looking outside and rain is headed this way. I hope those chicks are going to be smart enough to use the ramp into the coop instead of me having to catch them and place them inside. I worry about young birds outside not having learned enough for their own survival.

My youngest Serama pair (11 weeks old) will stay in the brooder for the next couple of days. I am glad we are not in a drought, but it looks like quite a bit of rain coming in a short period of time!

Good morning everyone!

We lost a very dear friend to cancer just a few days ago, his funeral was Saturday and was HUGE in terms of people in attendance. He was a guy who after talking to him for 5 minutes was your best friend. I am going to miss him. He was 59 years old.

We took some time to go antique-ing this past weekend, probably drove past some of you folks, as we left Charlotte and drove to Coldwater, then across 12 to Allen (antique capital) turned nort on 99 at Jonesville.....drove up to 60 and then west to 69 then back to Charlotte. Seemed nice to get away even if it were just for a few hours.....got to see some nice country.

Green beans and sweet corn is up in the garden, and the tomatoes are doing great in the new green house.

Chickens are laying eggs, meat birds are getting close to being ready for processing, we should have a new litter of piglets in about 3 weeks.

Grandkids keep us busy, that newborn is so precious and a good baby, Aiden keeps me busy giving him rides on the tractors.

Opened up the swimming pool yesterday, a job I always hate doing by myself, luckily both my sons were here to help.....just wish more people would swim in it.

Work still keeps coming in from the insurance companies for hail damaged homes, I think my 2009 season is all booked up. I am so thankful for it.

Planning a trip to the U.P. the first part of June for a open house........did I mention I am super busy?....

Morning everyone!

Crystal your coop is looking awesome!

Steve sounds like you are very busy, but a good kind of busy!

My green beans, lettuce, and kohlrabi are up, tomatoes and other plants are looking a little wind whipped, but they should pull through.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Nice pics Patti! My son wants a fainting goat so I've been looking for one of those for him. Does that fence keep them in? I would think it would have to be a strong fence. Goats don't push on or under their fence?

Crystal, nice job! I love it! I'm hoping we'll be working on my coop sometime this summer. It was probably built in the '50's or something so it needs lots of work. But it still has a solid frame so that's where we are going to start.

Steve, sorry about your friend. Glad to see your so busy though. So many people are without a job right now. I'm glad your not one of them.

MJ, we finally got the new fence up this weekend!

My luck we were about 20 feet short.

So now we have to wait until next weekend to get it finished.

We had some extra fence that wasn't the right size so we were going to double it to try to cover that 20 feet. But of course the big bad Ford ran it over flat!

I am sorry you lost such a good friend, Steve. They are hard to come by. You passed my house... Outside of Somerset Center, right past Bino's resturant off Waldron Rd... I would have waved if I knew you were going by! lol.
