I'm in Waterloo Michigan and very new to chickens as well just found out today that what I thought were hens are three meat chickens and two columbian rock roosters and a polish rooster. thank goodness the local feed store is getting pullets on Friday. Should have gotten them there rather than at TSC.
Glad you opened this up about Michigan and Backyard chickens is a good group with lots of info.

HillbillyHen, I have been giving my cornish extra calcium, but I know they need Vitamin D as well. What supplements do you suggest?

Pye & Papa. You will like it here. It's a great bunch of folks.
Sarah, I always use Vitamins and electrolytes by Durvet. It's in a yellow and red package. We get it at Tractor supply. I use about a half teaspoon to one gallon of water.

Well I was just approved for a new tractor. I have never had a loan before but there is a first time for everything. John Deere. Utility tractor with a bucket, mower deck and rototiller. Mostly it will be for my husband, but I already have a list of jobs for it to do in the chicken yard. lol.Well I hope everyone stayes cool somehow today. Kids pool and the basement sound like good places to be.

Hey everyone I think my last post got lost in the shuffle. Does anyone know of anybody who has Chinese geese? I'm looking for a white male.

Twinwillows- don't know anyone with white chinese geese off hand, but I will keep my eyes open for you, as I am a goose lover too.
