Good morning!! Well if I would of came here first I wouldn't have had all those question for you staples. I can do oyster shell. The little old farmer that brings eggs up to my husband 's work to sell doesn't know half the eggs we buy help to feed the turkeys. I am gonna need a lot of coffee today. I slept like poop.

Ok. Yes I know I am a grown adult, but I got into those Harry Potter books when my step-son was 10. I have read them all at least twice. I am very excited that the new movie is finally out. " The Half Blood Prince" I can't wait to see it.

Good morning. Raining here this morning.
briana, my youngest son and I would compete to see who would finish reading whatever book was out at the time. I enjoyed all the books several times. I have to wait till the movie comes out in video since I cannot go to the theater.

I know I am not sure when we will get to see it. My 9 year old is almost finished with the first book and keeps pointing out the PG rating. We wont let him see PG-13 movies. So to bring us all to the movies is VERY exspensive. We will have to see.

On another note I went out to let the chickens out for the day and a rooster bit me on my ankle. So I gave him a kick. Boy Sunday can't come fast enough. I have noticed it is the RIR that are almost all redish brown even tails, that are getting to be the most aggressive. The ones with the good colors like the very dark redish brown and the greenish black tails are not the ones attacking everything. I really don't know what that has to do with anything but I noticed it.

That's interesting. I remember that the RIR roos that my son had years ago were a little more aggresive than the BR's. Right now we have an EE roo that is 17 weeks old and he has been pretty rough with the pullets of the same age. I never had an EE before so I don't know if they are normally aggresive like that. He has been picked to go into the stew pot. Meanwhile I have finally found someone to take my Phoenix hen and rooster. A guy from church is going to get them for his grandson's birthday.

It certainly doesn't seem like the middle of July. Need a jacket in the morning seems more like October weather. Although I'm not complaining. It beat that extreme heat and humidity we had a couple of weeks ago. The garden does seem to be suffering for the cool though. This is the worst crop of beans I have ever had, and the okra just disappeared.

Ditto. Ohter than lots of lettuce, all I have gotten from my garden is one zuchini and a cup of peas.

A friend told me that farmer's markets all through the state are suffering because no one has much to bring to sell.

I did get a lot of turnips and collards from the garden already. They like the cool weather.
On another note..

I just went to make myself some hot tea only to find that I am completly out of tea bags! I NEED my tea like some people need their coffee. I can't believe I am out. This never happens. I am not much of a coffee drinker but I do have a half cup with DH while he has breakfast.

Funny you guys mentioning coffee and tea...

I'm trying to decide between a coffee-chocolate cake with mascarpone frosting or a green tea cake with cream cheese frosting for the county fair... suggestions?

Oh, and GOOD MORNING everyone!

I love tea but can only handle coffee when it's mixed with lots of chocolate and lots of sugar... like in a cake!

I'd love to but DH drove the van to work today so going to store for some is even out of the question.

I need the caffiene, if it weren't raining I could go next door to my MIL for some but I just might melt.
Thanks for the offer.
Guess I could make some coffee...

The sweet corn in our garden still looks pretty punny, but so far we have been eating lettuce, beets, peas and snow pea pods, and green beans. We also have tomatoes and jalapeno pepper showing up on the plants. Everything is growing, albeit slowly.
