Guess what I just brought home.....ducks. They are cute little critters that were hatched out earlier this spring. We brought home one older girl that may start laying soon, and 2 younger females and one younger drake. Hopefully I can get pictures tonight.

PS. I blame whomever sent the ducks home with my mom!!!

We fell in love with them and had to find our own.

We have finally finished the welsummer cottage. I thought we would finish sometime last week but well.... we just had to go to chickenstock and DH has to go to work. Here is the first shot before it is done. It is small, about 2 & 1/2 ft, wide and 7 ft long. It cost only 2 dollars to make because all we had to buy were the latches for the doors.

The finished cottage. The large entry door is on the left and the chicken pop door is in the front under the window. I had to put chicken wire and netting all around the top so the bigger chickens wont get in.

So you got yourself some peafowl, eh? Now, you went to Indiana intending to add those birds to your flock, right? They will love your trees and you will love their screams. Can't wait to see them.

...i TOTALLY knew i was buying peas. didn't know i was going to the Indiana Chickenstock though. was going to Ohio to get the peas. made a round trip. that worked nicely now, didn't it???

i believe we have one purple and two black shouldered. i am hoping there is one female in the bunch.

our neighbors kitty corner used to have peas, but they never let them out. we never saw them. they just cried all day. i thought it was a baby crying when we first moved here! i looked all day trying to figure out which neighbor had a baby!

good night all...sweet dreams!

Just got home, had to make a trip to Chicago, man that makes for a long day! Maya goes there every 6 months for a check up with Shriners, 4 hours there, barring any major traffic jams, 2 hours there, 4 hours back.

Praying for Jeremy and his family. Oh and Briana's FIL. I must have missed that, he got bit? That sounds painful!

Anyway, off to bed, we are going to go visit Ingham fair tomorrow!! Kids are excited!!

my peafowl. Thank goodness my neighbors do too!!
I use to have 11 and now I only have 5, 3 cocks 2 hens. My older son showed
them for 4H. He and I worked very hard to tame them and took them to petting zoo's at one of our local senior center homes. He even won Reserved Champion Poulty at the Eaton Co Fair one yr with Santana. You could get him to spread his tail for the old folks, he was a show off.

I know you will love your too

prays are with Jeremy and family and your FIL hope they all recover quickly
