Good to "see" you again, Steve!! How has it been going? Looks like you are all ready for any kind of snow we might get. And it looks like those tractors are going to get plenty of use this winter.

Going good, been real busy with all the hail damage work in the area,

Chickens are laying eggs (Thanks enabler) butchered 2 hogs (deelishus) kept the third for breeding purposes (bought a boar) and another grandchild due in May!

And the tractors both got used in this last bit of fluffstuff that fell from above.

Hey Steve!! Been wondering where you you have been!! Yum, fresh pork, sounds good!! We did a couple a few years ago with a friend, best thing we ever did, especially since we kept them at her house!!!

We had a metal saucer when I was a kid. My brother would put something on the bottem to make it really slick. I swear you could go Mach something on it. We loved it.
Then he would put us little ones on it and send us down the hill in the lane first. Thats how he got all the blackberry bushes knocked down

before he went down.

I have to laugh when you talk sleds LOL we had so many kids in the family that we never had bought sleds. I am the 13th by a minute and we used the hood of a old car for our sleds we all fit on it and that thing would go like greased lighting LOL. Man the memories. I still remember the switching the older boys got the first time we used that hood. Dad wasn't happy as it was to his car LOL and he did love that car LOL. He gave us the hood back when he got a new one LOL.

Most of the time until we got the hood we would use those waxed meat cardboard boxes they really went and you didn't have to grease them.

Like Miss Jayne said use cooking spray on those sleds, they go much nicer pulling deer on them if they have been sprayed well first.

what about sledding on lunch trays? it's called 'traying'. the ones you get in a cafeteria.

or on the shovel part of a snow shovel?


oh, yeah, good times, good bumps on the noggin.

not as bad as the time i ran my own wrist over sledding. i sliced across the wrist and it was so cold out, i never felt it. got home and my glove was covered in blood. it was already stuck to my hand from the clotting. just missed my veins going across. YIKES. still have a nasty scar. but i'll not forget sledding in the cold, dark woods!

also not as bad as the time two boys shot me with bb guns while i was ice skating. that hurt like nobodies business! good thing i was wearing two pair of pants and long johns!

At least those boys that shot ya with BB's wasn't your twin brother LOL The only sledding accident I can remember is going down hill with my favorite brother and him saying jump and me turning my head to the left and saying what, and then hitting a barb wired fence with my right temple. OH man when my dad got done waiting for Mom to stich up my face did David and I get it good. My Dad had the biggest hands ya ever seen (really he did, my brothers have the same hands ya have to order their gloves) he could be really gentle but he didn't waste time wondering if ya needed a swat if ya needed it ya got it, injured or not.

Hmmm, I guess I am not too good at steering!!

I have hit a tree with a runner sled when I was little and those darn saucers are deadly, there is no steering those!!

I have hit trees and once hit a trailer hitch on the back of a snowmobile and cracked my head good!

Maybe that was what happened to me

or was it when my cousin dropped me on my head as a baby and cracked my skull on the bed frame?

Did any of you ever go skitching? (when you hook on to car bumper and ride along) That was a blast. Use to do it all the time. It's how we got to school in the winter! I remember one time after church I hooked on a car and the driver caught me. He came out swearing at me, right in front of all those people that were coming out of church. Boy, was his face red!! The good ol days!
