lol, chickflick! Sounds like a good additional use for snakes, besides as pets. Every pet snake I ever had was named Sneaky Snake and lasted the better part of an afternoon - until it'd crawl out of the box left outside. Life was so simple then!

Of course, I don't intend to ever completely grow up. A few years back after a ton of snow had fallen, the kids and I were having a blast climbing up on our garage roof (from the woodpile & snowdrifts) & then sliding down in our slippery snowpants. REALLY cool! the fun lasted until I overshot the drift coming down and landed on my can & hurt my back...oops, some fun explaining that to the chiropractor!

Man, I step away for a couple days and there are pages of posts to read. All caught up now.

I have 7 showgirls that I am going to be selling, 8 weeks old. White, black, and brown.

I may also have some giant bbs cochins to sell as well, but only a few.

I am asking $7 a bird, they are 8 weeks old after all, but would consider offers for multiple birds. I figured I would offer them here before listing on craigslist.

The showgirls are from eggs I ordered on here.

By the way, we only have a light dusting of snow here in Redford.

Not fair, tororider! We have several inches of snow. Like I said, I'm tired of shoveling the chicken run already and we still have at least 3 more months of this. I always say we're in the snow belt. Always seem to have more than the surrounding areas. I got a showgirl from Vicki2x2. She's really a character. Don't be a stranger on here!

Went out to make sure everyone was where they were supposed to be. Can't have any more birds getting locked out again. Man, is it ever getting cold. A couple of more nights like this and we will be able to start icefishing. Sure is going to make sitting in the deer blind tomorrow evening an experience. Well, try and stay warm and don't let your comb freeze.

I had 4 degrees above this morning at 8:30. So that said Opa if you are sitting in a deer blind tomorrow I would stop at a store and pick up a couple of those hand warmer things and put them in my back pocket so my butt stayed warm. And I am not kidding that really works I have done that for school games. Happy hunting, don't forget the childs sled and pam spray.

Well this day sure is fun. Watching the snow come down and trying to psych myself up to go hunting this evening. I been out 3 times so far today, once to shovel the path to the coops and let the Welsummers out. Once to put Frost Protection on the rooster and check all of the birds and gather eggs (5), and again to shovel the front drive and get the mail. As hard as it's snowing I'm going to have to do everything all over again before I go anywhere. Only 114 more days til I can put my snow shovel away.

Kicking myself that I didn't go out hunting this evening. The way the wind dropped off, it would have been pretty reasonable sitting out in the woods. At least the day wasn't a total loss. I started building a new 6 section rollout nest box. Got it just about done so not a bad day after all. Hope everyone had a quiet peaceful weekend, and I hope you start your week feeling like it's Friday.

Hi All,
Haven't been on in awhile. Computer has been acting up. Glad to see everyone is doing alright. About the sledding, we used to sled on car hoods too, and the old wooden sleds, and inner tubes. The sleds they have now, just don't seem to be as fun.
Our youngest son did get a doe during deer season. We didn't. With my hubbys health, when it gets too cold, we can't go out.
We sure have had our share of nasty weather lately. We have made sure to keep checking on our feathered friends. Our little black silkie hatched out 3 little fuzz balls and something took them right out of the nest!!! I was so upset. We have traps out, but, just can't seem to catch whatever got them. Last week a big hawk was sitting on the fence watching them. Made me a little nervous.
With no money coming in, I am ringing the bells for Salvation Army. Pays minimum wage, not many hours, but, hopefully it will help someone else have a good Christmas. It sure does get cold out there. I about freeze my old tushie!!! They won't let you go inside to ring. Oh well, it is for a good cause, and worth it. God willing, I will stay healty and able to handle it.
Our chickens are not laying as much as they used to. But, they all seem to be doing alright.
Hope you are all doing just great. Myrna

Chickenpal, glad to see you are back to posting. I know that I enjoy reading everyones posts and I sure have meet some nice people on this site. Case in point, I had a sick chicken and needed help. Wynette offered suggestions as to what it might be and suggested treatment. Since the medication can only be obtained on line she had me go to her house to get the medicine. It's rare to find people that kind, but I think this site attracts them.
