I am drooling. I can do almost no baking right now due to my mixer started smoking and had to go. I have a hand egg beater.

Try mixing dough with an egg beater. I have to have Art help and he even has a hard time with it. LOL.

i have been doing mine by hand for the longest time. that's why i have major guns baby!

try bagel dough by hand, double batches.

my arms will be burning like fire by the half way point and i'm like just praying for it to be done and swearing i'll never do a double batch again.

MJ -- very nice gift! You will love the Kitchen Aid. The grinder attachment is great, too. I've had mine for ten years and it still works great! I know they last a long time. I use the grinder for meat and it's great for tomatoes. I put the deskinned tomatoes through there before I cook them for canning. I've used it for making sandwich spread, too. I'm so excited for you. You'll probably be baking up a storm this weekend.
