I love fall and I love the holidays, but I could do without winter.

Wow the frost this morning, I went out to open everyone up, and slid right down the steps,

LoveMyChicklets Sorry to hear about your dixie rainbow.

Well are son scared the crap out of us yesterday, he didn't get off the bus with his sister, she goes to the middle and he goes to HS, she didn't see him when the bus's were there to pick up the HS'ers, so here i think he went with his friend,
rant.gif
and at this time I'm MAD, so i called the friend, and he said no, he said that Katie was picking up, Chuck and are like Who is Katie, he never spoke of her. so we called all over, his other friends and no body knows, called the bus driver, thinking he may have seen him and who he went with. and he didn't see him at all, so now where freaking out, it 7:00 p.m. His never done this before, he tells every his goes and what his doing and done and still not a word from him, and here were getting him a Cell phone for his birth next month, so we have no way of getting in touch with him, Chuck and go through both of are cell phone and see if there is any texting of where he is at, and nothing, so we got his My Space, and we see a Katie that said Chris was at her house, but we dont know if that is the right Katie, and no calls Christian Chris, his friends parents are driving around, looking for him, Chuck and I are taking turns driving around, so by 8:15 p.m I call the police, and put in a missing person's report
hit.gif
now his friend and parents are here, going through my space to see if any one knows where his is, who he meeting up with, All we think is what if with some wiredo, or got in a accident, and going through my head, is this kid made though Cancer and now his missing, so the police come, take are info, and put in there system, after the police leave, i go back out driving again, i went down all the main streets in Linden and Fenton, thinking he may be walking or something, now is 10:45, the police office calles me, asked if we heard from him, i said no and I'm driving around looking, he said well you may want to start call the hospitals,
hit.gif
so i call chuck to tell him to start calling the Hospitals, then starts freaking out crying, I'm crying, 5 min's later Chuck calls, His Home. and all i think is Thank God, and i'm going kick this kids butt up and down, I get home, oh we laid it to him, telling him to never ever do that again, that all we could think is some wiredo got you, or you were hurt, where thinking all bad stuff, Christian starts crying, and he said he went to Katies to study for Science project,. a Parents worst fear, so now he cant use are cell phones, the computer for 2 weeks and no going to see his friends.
I hope with well teach him, to respect are feelings of where he goes and that we worry about him.
I tell ya you need to know every friend your kid has and everything they do on the computer.

so hopefully today is a better day,

must move!

I refuse to turn on the furnace yet!!! I told my kids to "bundle up, Baby".
We covered up alot of the tomatoes in the garden, but also picked a ton which I am dicing up to put in the freezer. I have my work cut out for me.
I wish the frost would have held off a few more weeks so we could enjoy our garden longer.

Sarah----I hope you get the pump fixed soon. It is always culture shock when the water isn't working in the house.

LMC-----That is weird. The are all, execpt the one, okay---right? When I first started to read I was concerned I would be reading about them all being gone forever.

cristy---a nice warm fire in the woodstove sounds great right now. I am chilly, but not turing on the furnace.

duckface----I didn't realize any counties had their fairs so late in the year. I guess I always assumed they did summer time, like Tuscola county does.
Fair food is so yummy, but I guess a Nutty Buddy ice cream thing would not be so appealing this time of year.

Omygosh Laura! That is every parents greatest nightmare, something happening to their children. I know how much I worry about my kids, can only begin to imagine what you went through. Thank the Lord that he's ok and hopefully he'll have learned a good lesson. They just really have no idea how much we love them. At least until they grow up and have kids of their own! Then they realize it.

I tell ya you need to know every friend your kid has and everything they do on the computer.

Absolutely! I'm so glad he was safe and sound. All the while I was reading that I kept thinking, "this must end happily"!

Yup, Hillsdale Co. always does theirs the end of September. I don't if all the areas schools do, but our girls' school gives the kids Mon. and Tues. off for the fair.

you know thats what i told him, you will not know this feeling tell you have kids of your own.
I think he kind of knows, his dog got hit by a car, and died, and it broke are hearts, we got him another dog, well he ran after a deer, and went missing for 2 days, and Christian was so scard that jack got hit by a car to, so we brought that up to him and how he felt when Zack died and when Jack was missing. I told him to always remember that feeling, and thats why its so important to tell us where your going.

Laura -- What a scary experience! I hope your son learns from it. And am so glad he's home safe now. How wonderful that you have such a caring and active support community to help you in a time of need. Times like that really prove who is there for you when things get tough.

Blueberrylu -- I thought I was the only one with that outlook on the furnace. I told my husband and kids "they make wool socks for a reason!"

Laura that had to be so scary. When our son Collin was 3 he hid at TSC. We were to the point of locking the store down and having someone check the parking lot when he peeked out from between a tractor and a big sign. The feeling of being so happy to see them and sooo mad for putting you through that. For us it was for a matter of 15-20 minutes. I couldn't even imagine for hours.
