MJ watch craigslist. Last fall I got a newer stainless maytag fridge and double oven stove for $1100 for both pieces. The stove cost new alone, almost double that. They were still under warranty too. You can find some great deals there as a lot of people are moving out of michigan and dont wanna take the large items with them.

Would that be Sweetie Pie bakery? This is a local woman who just started baking and selling pies at the city market a few years ago and it has mushroomed into a great business for her - she's won national competitions recently too!

Sad news, I lost my BLRW rooster Victor last night.

I believe he ate something while free ranging last week. I had quarantined him and did all I could, but he lost his fight last night. I am devastated, as he was my favorite boy!!

Fortunately no one else seems affected and I think I may have found the culprit. Odd mushrooms growing near one of our water tanks. At least I hope that is what it was. I have removed them and am watching everyone else closely.

I am putting all of the last weeks eggs in the bator, I can't replace my boy, but I can keep some of his kids.

HillBillyHen- The water took a long time to clear up. Hubby found that when the well pump went the softener was running. so that was a big part of the problem. Everything is a ok today. Toliets and sinks are scrubbed and good to go!

MJ- if you lived closer, I would love to be a taste tester!!Hehehe

The girls and I are going to the Taylor Swift concert in Grand Rapids tonight. Cannot wait! An early Christmas present for them all.

Hi All
My follow up application for chicken permit was received by city law department & city council(BY MAIL) on tuesday morning, but nobody cares to do anything. I called several times, emailed them asking them for appointment to talk to any council member before speaking up in council meeting but they dont return calls or give appointment time to talk.
i am feeling upset if I will be the only one in whole council meeting who is eager to keep chickens.
I am also looking into starting a local blog or raise questions on already existing blogs in my area about keeping chickens in urban backyards.

Vicki - I'm so sorry to hear about Victor. It sounds like he was a very special boy. Hi offspring are doing very well here, and are even living the pampered life in a coop on my porch until their new digs are complete. RIP Victor.

MJ- Hey, I do live close enough to be a test tester. Hmmmm! What excuse could I come up with to stop in????

I finally had a call from my family Dr. today about tests I had taken at the hosp. 2 weeks ago. Ugh! I go in Monday to discuss the results. It sounds like they did find something off, whithout being horrible. The nurse reassured me not to worry, but was not able to give anything but basic information. Today has been a roungh day though. After having a week of feeling half way decent I've been laying in bed since 3am with abdominal pains and discomfort. All in the same location as my gaul bladder. I can't wait to get this figured out.
