My DD and I are going to try to head up there this Saturday. DH and DS have a Cub Scout function and won't make it up there until after 2pm! By then all the fuzz-butts would be sold

Good Afternoon!

What crazy weather we are having!!! We lost power at 1:30am, came on again around 3:30am, then my alarm went off at 5am and the power went back out at 5:05am!!!! So no exersicing this morning and I went back to bed. Power came back on around 10:30am (the fastest ever!) There was a power line down on Grand River at 6 corners, neighbor said on fire and dancing all over the place.

Jack is done with school, the girls are still working on theirs. Time for a break and lunch.

Our baby chicks are glad for the heat lamp again. They were chilly this morning.

Rachel has to wash her chickens this afternoon too for the show.

Have a great day and hold on to your hat!!!

Happy birthday Boyd!

Sarah

just got done making chili-mac out of the left over chili from last night. (it was oh so yum. with cinnamon and cocoa in it. oh my gosh.)

now, on to shower and then, pepperoni rollage!

I just came back in from bringing the chickens some treats and Rodney the new roo is doing much better. He actually comes to the gate with the other chickens now due to me = food. He won't eat next to anyone yet but he isn't being chased away anymore. I think it is going well.

Edited to add who can tell me when to add in the EE chicks. I think they are about 6 weeks? How long to wait to put them out?

oh, is Rodney the one from here???

and the EE's, you can add them as long as they are feathered out. you'll just have to watch them like you did adding anything else. and it will take time for them to mix in with the crew. watch for anyone beating them up. eventually, they will earn their spot.

make sure they have somewhere they can run away to that the others cannot fit, for an escape.

Yep Rodney is from your place. Now that he has been put in his place by the hens and the Sweetgrass tom. He is very sweet he will even hide behind my legs and let me pick him up. I think he is just happy someone is being nice to him. He is scared of all the Barred Rocks due to Maggie giving him a butt wooping.

I had a quick question I was hoping someone could answer. I did put 5 eggs under my broodie BO. The 12th will be 10 days. That is when I should check for veining? If none of them are any good then what?
