Gads I can't imagine not venturing out.

Bay City... Lucky you!
Wish we could of returned this winter but my hubby recently had open heart surgery.
That kind of put everything on the back burner.

I am loving this *heat wave*. Today, I played outside with the dog and the chickens and my beloved snow-shovel! Mostly the shovel...

MissJayne - I would have preferred to spend the day with other poultry enthusiasts, as you did. Are you gonna eat that goose?

My daughter left on her mission trip to Dominica friday. She emailed me this morning, it was 80 and there was a beautiful breeze.

They start their eye clinics tomorrow and in the evenings get to do some sightseeing and tourist stuff. The eye Dr.'s have been going for 15 years so they know all the good things to do and places to go. They are going zip lining this week along with rock climbing, and ATV'ing through the jungle. They are also right on the beach and have a pool at the hotel. I am so jealous!

That sounds just amazing, Vicki! Your daughter is so fortunate. I hope that my son will get to do such wonderful things. The farthest I've ever been from home was to Cancun when I was much younger. I definitely don't consider that vacation an educational experience!

For several years my oldest son lived in Louisianna. I would go down there the later part of January and stay for several weeks. I would work on their house, eat a lot of cajun food, and enjoy the warmth. It was a welcome break from winter. Now he lives in sw Missouri and while it is usually warmer than here. It's only 20 degrees warmer. Still to cold to work on their house, still to cold to be outdoors and not a winter relief destination.

Good morning!!!!!!

I sure hope the sunshine makes it out today...I've got brooders outside to clean. It's not looking very promising right now, though.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do with my 3 Delaware/White Leghorn cockerels? They look like pure Leghorns (just a little bigger and "meatier"), and it would probably be easier to get rid of them if they were...but I'm definitely not the deceiving type. They're really beautiful and super sweet, so eating them is not an option for myself. I've got them advertised in Freecycle, but no one has responded yet. Does anyone on here know how to caponize?
