28 days! Thats screwed up...thats like a duck..who thinks I have patience to hatch out anything that takes longer than a chicken? Heck, I barely can survive that- quail, now those are the bomb!

Actually sending mystery eggs to someone is rather messed up once you start mixing species...cuz, what if I just tossed them out thinking they were quitters?

other than that... well,

yeah, that is kinda wonky! but, free eggs!

just looked and some of the bantams that hatched have feathered legs!! too cute!

Vick2x2- Did you post about wanting a Holland Lop doe for your daughter?? Picked up an animal tracks at TSC and there was an add for Hollands. Their web site was northpleasantridgefarms.com and ph is 586-940-5649. They are located in metamora, east of us and a little south.
Lost 3 more of the black bantams, two more are weak but still breathing. That leaves 7 antwerps, 3 silver pheonix, 4 cochins. Chickflick called and got a price adjustment. We hate losing chicks

My first fuzzy footed got here last sunday. Wife loved themand they are the cutest.

As a man's point on the babies growing up- my daughters are grown and bringing grandkids around. We adopted just before the youngest moved. I find myself reliving all those last moments over again. And always in my mind hearing my wife remind me. "These times will only come around once". Boy am i glad she meant once with each kid.

We were going to do it last week but she was walking, roosting, free ranging ect. She did not seem to be in pain. There was no sign of infection, but now with it getting infected I don't know what else we can do. Someone said to take her to the vet and have them amputated but we are not rich and I am sure that would be expensive.

let me encourage you, friend! as much as we care about them, we have to make these decisions. if you medicate her, she will most likely be weak.

it may sound harsh, but i cull anything that isn't 'just right'. i don't want my poultry to suffer and i don't want a weak flock. so, it must be done.

sorry again, that you are going through this.
