Good Afternoon!

I have another sick one on the couch. Jack has been up since 3:30am. Visiting the porclien god, actually after the first visit he got the 'bucket' to keep with him. He has kept my organge juice concoction down for a couple hours, so hopefully on the mend.

But boy am I tired and I didn't get to go exericse. Couldn't get Jon to wake up enough to handle Jack. I will work out extra hard tomorrow:)

Off to check in on Jack, he was almost asleep on the couch when I snuck out to get on the computer.

Sarah

The Muskegon is a excellent river to fish on the days you're tired of playing with chickens. Welcome the Michigan and our thread.

thank you so much!!

(maybe you can take me fishing as I have never been)
Cheyenne and I are very excited to be coming that way. We have a 100 year old farm house, and a HUGE barn.. so all the pretty little silkies will have nice big pens..

We are going to need a really nice quiet horse, If anyone has one for sale, we would love to come see it!
Also, we are going to be looking for Sebbies, does anyone do those in the area??

That would be great -thank you all so much!!Gosh nice to know there are so many BYC'ers in the area!!!
I am going to miss my area, just because I have been here my whole life. Nut it sounds Like I am coming to a great area!
I do rescue with labradors, but we have 8 acres of pasture, not sure on how many stalls I can fit yet, since the horses are going to have to share their barn with the birds!

I also do wedding flowers, if anyone needs that service this year!
I cannot wait till June.. I am coming up this weekend to spend the first night ever there!!

I took the oldest duck out today since it was sooo nice. I honestly didn't know what to expect since it cries when it can't see me... but it runs from me when I try to get near it

When we got outside I sat her down and she ran after me and followed me around the yard!

I directed her to a little sandbox (full of water) and she swam a while before following me back into the house

The eggs under my "dueling broodies"
gig.gif
should hatch tomorrow or Friday. I sure hope a couple hatch. They are sibling eggs to the frizzleds that I have in the incubator. So, I have a question. These two, my Silkie and my Turken are brooding sidebyside. That close- no space in between. They reach under each other and take eggs. Can I leave them like that? It makes life easier when the eggs hatch, I planned on tacking up chicken wire so the other hens cant get to them and then moving them to their own area a couple days after the hatch. I am pretty clueless.

Supposedly getting two of my own back, from chicks I hatched out last summer. They are illegal, and now that they are laying, my coworker is shocked how loud the "egg song" is. He says he is going to get caught so take them back. I said, "Okay- want to wait and see if your neighbors complain first?" He said no. Some of us just like to live on the edge, I suppose. So far, my neighbors are still liking my eggs and "kissing up" that I do.

I took my Maine Coon with me to work yesterday to trim her nails. She won't let me do them by myself and nobody here can hold her still while I trim. Well, I figured Id have the vet listen to her heart while we were there- give her a quick once over...she is five years old. Well, one thing to the next and five hundred dollars worth of services later, I now know that my cat has cardiomyopathy. Maine Coons are genetically predisposed to it, I just didnt think mine had it this young. She also has high blood pressure, and we are putting her on heart meds.

Good morning all, today is certainly starting out well. I awoke look at my watch, read 620, so I jumped up, dressed, put on some coffee, logged on to check BYC before David gets here, and discovered that it was only now 430. Not much sense in going back to bed with a whole pot of coffee sitting there so I guess today is off to an early start.
