'Morning all------------I am having coffee and yelling at the kids to get ready for school. What a lovely way to start the day

. I have had 4 days of fun doing different activities and socializing----today my highlight is housework.
I told my hubby that it was a harsh comedown from all my fun.

My friend talked to her hubby about getting ready for the 4-H show chickens and much to her surprise her was all on board with it. He has said before he did not want permanent chickens---raising the market birds was fine, but no one could stay the winter. Now---he is trying to find a day to help her clean out the shed to set up the chick pens and lamps. We think the fact the we want some heritage breeds from MJ helped. He is a several generation dairy farmer, so he is into the farm history thing.
We are excited!!!

I hope everyone has at least one good laugh today---I saw a quote painted on the wall of a cute little tea shop yesterday that said that laughter keeps you young-----I think I regressed several years from all the time spent with my friends this weekend. Hopefully you all will reverse the aging process a bit today too

Good Morning!

Another child has the stomach bug:( Gretchen is on the other couch along with Jack slept upstairs last night.

I did make it to and exercise this morning. the house is still quiet so I am letting them sleep in.

Have a great day and enjoy the weather!

Sarah

That is so neat for your friend, BBLou! MJ's ability to addict people to chickens is now being transferred with out her even being there, lol. I must say I am suprised that she didn't sneak a few into your pockets or backseat of your car while you were not looking... (maybe you should check?)

Sarah, I am so sorry about all the sick kid- lings! Will be praying for you. It can make a woman weary!

Morning all! Hope everyone has a great day. I'm taking my 3 1/2 year old son to sign up for T-Ball today! I'm just totally excited for him...all he's talking about is playin' ball. Also got offered a part-time job working in my friend's greenhouse this summer...and I can take my son with me! This year's gonna be SUPER busy for me it looks like. I love it!

Morning chicken people!

Sarah-sorry your kiddos are still sick, at least you got to get your workout in, maybe you can fight off the bug!

I am heading to Grand Rapids to get a part for our hot tub. Here is the problem, Family Farm and Home is very close to the hot tub store....

I am just going to take the girls in to look around...hopefully. If I just get a couple it won't be so bad, right?

Have a great day everyone!

Hi all! I've been on here before, thanks to Miss Jayne recommending it, but I've not posted before. All I can say is that I'm SOOOO jealous! Unfortunately I have to work full-time and hold down the insurance for the family. I commute to work and am gone from the house from 6am until 5:30pm and only get minimal time with my wonderful family, chickies/dog/cat. I've tried figuring ways to work from home but nothing seems feasible. Darn it! So here's to you all - cheers! Wish I was you

I ordered quite a few chicks and two turkeys from Miss Jayne this year. I'm so darned excited for all my new babies to hatch. I simply CAN NOT WAIT! We're giving turkeys a shot this year, haven't done those before. Any pointers?

Good morning all! Hope everyone has a wonderful day.... I have much painting to do, so I'll be stuck inside

But... we're in the home stretch! Bathroom is almost done and there are only a couple things left to tackle before we move!!! I'm going to box it all up this weekend!

On the downside though.... I'm extremely stressed...... my next to youngest (11) has been having many anger and emotional issues..... a lot of it to do with the fact that his dad encourages this kind of behavior

We've decided since he keeps getting in trouble in school and is nothing but willful here at home as well... that he is going to Alaska to stay with his Grandmother and Grandfather until the end of summer and possibly for next school year as well. They had wanted him to come up last year... but I didn't want him to be so far away
sad.png
Now we've reached a crossroads and he really needs some HIM time and a chance to figure out what kind of person he wants to be. I'm so torn... I know this will be a HUGE learning and growing experience for him..... but it kills me that he has to be so far away and that I won't be there ... I have to trust my ex-inlaws to do the job

They are good people..... but we have our differences.

He's leaving the 28th!!!!!

My own mother is going to flip out... she convinces herself every time one goes that they're gonna die and never come home .... it's wild Alaska... Ambler area.... cabin in the woods... Salmon, Moose, Bear .... it'll be a huge life experience for him for sure! He visited once..... but only for a month. This time he'll get the FULL experience... including dog mushing if he stays through next year.

Shelly sounds like a great oppourtunity for you.

I have massive amounts of laundry to do today. I have been slacking doing other stuff. We went and got another coop. I got my pepper plants started which tells me spring is actually coming right? Baked some bread and cinnamon rolls.
