Just had to share!

Well Granny is a happy camper tonight. I deep fried walleye fillets for supper tonight. Southern style of course. The last time I fixed fish I broiled it and she was disappointed that it wasn't fried. We trying to change her eating habits so that she isn't eating so much fried foods. HHer attitude is that if God hadn't wanted her to eat that kind of food she wouldn't have been raised in the south.

That fish sure sounds good Opa. I love deep fried fish, perch and walleye are a favoite here.

We had the kids out for a while today, it wasn't too chilly as the sun was out. Here are a few pictures that I snapped.

Our barred frizzled cochin:

Our daughter and a pair of young Serama that are supposed to be sold to a lady in Florida. I was amazed with them. We've been holding them until weather breaks so I can ship them. They aren't handled very often and have their own cage. DD wanted to get them out and as soon as she got them it's as if they were hypnotized. They relaxed and slept with her and then she pushed each one individually on their own swing. It was too funny. Didn't get a chance to capture that though.

And our soon playing while others enjoyed some cabbage that was left after my DW made cabbage rolls for dinner.

Thanks for the welcome. I have been looking at this for a couple of weeks now, just joined today. Everyone seems very friendly and the information is top notch . My husband laughs at me because he thinks I'm already Obsessed!

BBLou, just a few more posts and you will be bawlk abawk clucking in your sleep, too! i would say run but i fear it is too late.... the thing that puts you over the edge is any food eaten at MJ's... (I am fairly certain she puts chicken dust in it!)

I'm headed for MJ's on the 16th. I am really looking forward to meeting both her and Michelle. I've talked with both ladies and no it will be nice to actually put faces on the people I've come to know.

It looks like we are about to start getting real busy. I talked with David tonight and it looks like we are getting all eight of the bids we currently have out. I've talked to a lot of people in the trades and the common complaint is no work. So we are very fortunate. The amazing thing is that on one job the homeowner and met with 5 other contractors and we were the only one to present him with a quote. Strange, you would think they would want to be working.

Oh man, I am totallly done for!! I ate a delicious cinnamon roll there today. Too late to pump my stomach------guess I gotta find a way to set up my own brooder, then get hubby to build a jumbo coop and chicken tractor. My oldest DD and her friend that went with us today want to build a big coop with a loft in it so they can spend the night in the coop with the chickens----they must have it too!!

Sam----the speckled sussex we are getting from MJ are supposed to hatch on the 16th, so you will have to tell them hello if they are peeping or pipping or whichever!!

Cat---we were checking out your homemade vanilla----the recipe is wanted. It smelled marvelous!! We did not, however, get a chance to check out the lard, though MJ told us about it.
