How are the chicks? Survive their new home?

Did you cement those posts in? If you didn't, make sure you do it this time. And if you did, you may have to go deeper. Like Kristen says, you just have to deal with it. This is Mi and snow like this happens, and now you know that your run needs to be made stronger. Good Luck!

Lord, please give her your peace that passes all understanding. Help her to know You are for her and not against her and You have a good plan for her, her family and all in her charge, for prosperity, not calamity, to give them a future and a hope. Show them what to do to fix this and we know You will provide everything needed.

God bless you and thank you so very much. I'll stop whining, I promise.

Good Morning Everyone!

Got the concrete shoveled. It is wet, sloppy, and heavy!!!! But it is done! Snow is covering it already.

We are heading to Ann Arbor at 11am. The freeway is going fast, so I think we will be fine. The best thing about living next to I-96 is I can look out and see how the roads are. If the freeway is not moving fast, we don't go out. The secondary raods are never clear if the freeway isn't

So many posts, I tried to go back and read them all, I got through most of them.

I hate to tell you we have no snow here, it just missed us. It is really cold, but I feel really bad for everyone east of me who is shoveling.

My house is soooo quiet, all my kids are still sleeping. Kinda weird, but in a lovely sort of way. I think I will make more coffee and enjoy this for a moment!

I got about 6 pine trees bordering my yard that are maybe 10 feet tall.....they are so heavy with snow the branches are all pointing straight down

Just 2 days ago I was tilling up the garden.

Opa's right...at least we don't have snakes!

We have not gotten hit, up here in Bay County, like y'all downstate have. It is slushy with a light dusting of snow. Reading what you are dealing with makes me think that I should run my errands & hunker down. Is it heading my way?

Damage assessed. The heavy snow piled on the deer fencing caused a good half of the pen to collapse. I had to rip down all the remainder of the deer fencing that was weighing down the rest of the fence. Glad I went out, against hubbies wishes but I had to see.

Wondering if anyone else has had this happen before? I'm thinking if we might be better off not putting the deer fencing back up on top of the pen when the weather clears up. A lot of money wasted though if we don't. We have to somehow repair the fencing of the pen that collapsed inward so that the darn possums can't get in. We still have to deal with the hawks though, hum..... , and the mink/weasle too. So many predators!

Snakes........when I was in the Army and stationed in Germany, we would be in the field on maneuvers, and invariably some new guy city kid would always ask what kind of snakes inhabited the area and were any of them poisonous. Surprizingly, even in winter these guys would be concerned about snakes. We would reassure them that there were no poisonous snakes in Germany but that they would have to be on the alert for snow snakes. We would point out the raised runs in the snow created by mice and state that those were snake tunnels. We would further inform them that snow snakes could get into your sleeping bag and then when you were sleeping would try to locate a warm tunnel. It was always funny to listen to their pronouncements of disbelieve yet watch them shaking out their sleeping bags at night.
