Just came in from checking on the birds. The two new guys, the bantam orpingtons still don't grasp the concept of going to roost. They just ploop done in the cage. I've had to move them inside two nights in a row. Hope they learn to start going inside.

I've been up since 5 not like me on a Sat! I had to check on the meaties, I moved them outside with a heat lamp, to stinky!

So, I played a trick on Big Russ yesterday!

My friend who I gave the 4 mutts to is in love. She had me buy 4 more chicks for her 2 weeks ago. Now yesterday she called and asked if I would put a few more in the brooder. Of course I love to raise baby chicks so she came back with 12!

I told Big Russ they were mine! You should have seen his face, poor guy.

He asked if I would need a 4th coop!

He was very relieved when I told him they are not mine. Some how I now have a total of 79 chicks and chickens!

Ok, I am off to paint the new coop!

all the ducks are swimming like mad this morning and splashing about.
