Good morning all!!
Wow, this Michigan thread sure moves fast. When I have to work all day it takes me forever to catch up. I am finally making a little time come back for a visit. You all seem to know each other so well. It is very nice. I am looking forward to trying to keep up with you all.
Derek, do you need someone to come and take care of your chickens today? You are suppose to stay off your knee, so I thought if you needed help, I could run over and do some chores for you.
Chickeemomma, your girls are adorable!
Good Morning all!
Welcome back Freebie. I remember seeing you on this thread some time ago. There are a lot of friendships here and you will find very genuine people who share the same interests. Did I mention the enablers? I never knew there was a thing a such as chicken addiction.
Rose - Thanks so much for the offer. I'll let you know, but I think I have it covered. My kids have been very willing and excited to help, and I think my DW would do whatever I needed. How are things with you and Kristin's families/flocks? How's Hattie?
Thanks only one lay, I hope it is a short recovery. I can't stand just sitting here all day. Still have those kittens? Trying to convince DW that her daughter really wants one(she does)
Kids are working on school. I am making copies so jumped on to check the happenings real quick.
Got the puppy home from the vet. Boy was he glad to see me!!! Hanging out for the next 10 days, no chasing tennis balls. and have to walk him on a leash.
It was just hailing here a few minutes ago....terrible Michigan weather. I cannot wait for this weekend and the warm weather!!!
Ok, Derek. If you need help, let me know. I'm home except for Thurs. Take care of your knee! Sun is shinning...yeah! Let's hope that the rain stays away, or I'll have to get flippers for my chickens!
This is amazing. As bad as it sounds, I had the urge to check on a Serama that had pipped last night. I broke out the crutches and made my way to the coop. The mother hen was sitting on her three hatched chicks on the other side of the cage. She had abandoned her nest. I picked up the pipped egg, it was cold, and I heard a chirp. There was another one that looked like it was part way out, and appeared lifeless. I brought them in and put immediately put the pipped into my 'el cheapo incubator. I noticed the other egg "rock" on the counter, so put that one in too. I actually just saw it take in some yolk. I'm still in amazement.
