Cool! Sounds like fun. Can't wait. Be looking forward to your call tomorrow morning. Well, it's been a long day with the grand kids and I'm beat. I'm going to bed! Have a peaceful night, Shelley. Good night all....

Ohmygosh MJ! I love the turkey poults. Gotta tell you though, one of those white midgies is giving me heck! The little bugger told me how mad he was at me for taking him away from all his other buddies alllllll night long! Lordy! Whewie, I'm hoping he/she quiets down a little bit tonight

I know they were warm enough because I have a thermometer in there, I think he/she was just mad - ha-ha-ha! Was also trying to fly out of the brooder. Silly little thing

Good Morning!
Another day with a house full of kids! I think we are going to do a few rainy day activities today. Hopefully this rain goes away and we can get outside to play.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning Everyone.

Welcome, Tammayrand! I am just down the road, off US12, near Somerset Center. (well, about 45 minutes down the road, lol.) Hope you have as much fun on here as we do! What kind of chickens do you keep?

I'm collecting Silkie eggs for your girls...tell them to hang in there! I might be going to Owosso on Tuesday for official "chicken business"...would you like to go with me?

This past Tuesday, DD & I went to Owosso on "chicken business." Came home with more than we'd planned.

Luckily, we have two broodies. I am rather new to this. Had my first broody hatch chicks 11 days ago. Didn't realize that you can shove a dozen eggs under a Wyandotte! I was not able to get the hang of operating an incubator, but shoving eggs under my big gal was a breeze.

Good morning everyone. I am happy to say I have a broody. One of my little bantam millie fluers has gone broody. I have left her 3 bantam eggs and to from the EE's. I am going to move her on either Friday or Saturday night. Some of the others keep laying eggs in her spot. I have a cat crate I will put right there and give her her own space. I am sure she will be very happy, now I would like Sydney to follow suit. She has not let me down in 2 years, come on... everyone send Sydney go broody vibes our way. Please!!!

I want to share a photo of my Ameraucanas from John Blehm. They hatched the same day, last week, that my Phoenix hatched out 2 mutts & a silkie. She took to them without hesitation.

Awwww! They are sooo cute! I am fighting the urge for more chicklets. I have wayyy to many already but I'm supposed to go out to the Painted Dreams farm this weekend and get 5 more. When to stop? I just don't know. Hubby said I should have stopped a while ago because he doesn't have time to build another coop. I have a lot of straight run chicks so the roos will be dinner but ...... it's so hard to resist getting a breed I don't have already:oops:

After much deliberation I've decided not to push my luck or the health of my present chickens. The last chicks I will bring home this season will be the final four from MJ. Ho-hum... I feel ... sad
