Ohmygosh MJ! I love the turkey poults. Gotta tell you though, one of those white midgies is giving me heck! The little bugger told me how mad he was at me for taking him away from all his other buddies alllllll night long! Lordy! Whewie, I'm hoping he/she quiets down a little bit tonight

I know they were warm enough because I have a thermometer in there, I think he/she was just mad - ha-ha-ha! Was also trying to fly out of the brooder. Silly little thing

Hi everybody! Hello MJ! I just made your Amish bread, but cut back the sugar to 2 TBSP for one loaf. Tastes excellent! More of a Farmhouse white bread now. Thought hubby could take this version as a sandwich in his lunch. I do love the regular recipe, too! Yum! Yum! Oh and that Oatmeal Molasses wasn't that great, but I'd still share the recipe if you want!

try making sandwich rolls out of it for him! it works great.
totally need your Oatmeal Molasses recipe. i'd try it just to see.

I will email that recipe to you. It's a yeast batter bread. My husband didn't like it. I thougt it was just okay and the kids ate it just fine. It's moist, but crumbly -- if that makes sense! Good idea about the sandwich rolls! My EEs are so darn cute the are running all over outside. Never had an issue between the adults and the little guys. I think that I did put them together at about 11 weeks. But they saw each other through the fence for five weeks. Well I'm going to take the little one out to play.

oh, and another little tidbit....vkulesh came over today to bring some eggs out and brought his girls. the sweetest little ladies ever!
they had such lovely manners and were very polite.

they played 'Polly Pockets' with my daughter Elizabeth. they'll have to have a whole day, because they were having a blast!

Victor...thank you for such a nice visit with your children. they are wonderfully sweet girls.

Glad to see the sun is finally poking out! The babies are all asleep for a minute

My chickens keep wandering out to the neighbors and eating apples (they pack apples), I hope it doesn't make them stop laying.

Well, we were planning on putting our Brahma rooster in the pot tomorrow, but I got one PM about him. If that falls through we will have a nice meal this weekend. I hate to see him go, but I can't risk it with all the kids around here.

Edited because I can't spell!

Well the rain didn't amount to much here, just enought to mess doing much outside. I did however go out to the shop and build a new feeder to attach to the brooder. The commercially built one allowed the birds to bill out to much feed and it would then fall through the wire and be wasted. Hopefully my new one will work much better.

Michelle has welsummers hatching from eggs she got from me and I and anxious to find out how many she will wind up with. Welsummer chicks sure are cute little guys.

Hi Opa! I think our hatch is complete, but I won't pull the plug on the 'bator until tomorrow. Right now, I've got 8 chicks hatched and 1 pipped.

They are mighty cute little things.

I'll be posting pics of them tonight in my thread.

And thank you again, Sam, for the eggs.

I'll be sharing some of these chicks with a dear friend who just lost her flock to a weasel invasion. I just know she's going to love them, too.
