Welcome to BYC! As Opa said, I am in Brown City, too. If you check out my website, there might be something there that interests you. I do have standard layer breeds that aren't listed there, so pm me privately if there's a particular breed you're looking for...I might just have it.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Mothers Day and great weekend.
Welcome to all the new ones and I am sure you will find some wonderful friends here.
I finally had a chance to check out this thread and get caught back up. While I was here, something grabbed one of my birds.
Probably a coon, but it was so dark, couldn't see it , even with a good flash light, and it went on our neighbors property and he is not good person and we are not allowed on his land. It is that time of year. God willing, we can get whatever it is, before it kills any more.
My hubby did get a chance to build a small coop for our silkies and young chicks. It turned out really nice. With his arthritis, it made him hurt really bad, and still hurting.
We had a yard sale over the weekend to try to make a little money. Made enough for chicken food.
So that helped.
Will try again next weekend.
I have our fridge covered with pictures the grandkids made. And we still have little gifts put away our sons got us, or made us.
MJ, hope you have a wonderful trip.
Take care all, and God Bless and keep you all in his loving arms.
Good morning all, the coffee is on if anyone wants a cup. It looks like it is going to be a wonderful day. But of course they 're all good, it just a matter of attitude. Even on the days things are going bad if you take a few moments to think about how lucky you are to be able to deal with the problems then the bad day is good as well.
Hopefully everyone had covered the tender young plants; they're talking frost advisory on the weather forecast. If you haven't covered them and you can get out before sunrise a light misting of water can help. I never plant anything before the last week end in May just to avoid having to cover my plants and even with that late planting I still occasionally have to cover them. I know that planting beans much before then is usually a waste of time. The soil is to cold for the seed to start germinating and if we get very much rain they rot.
I've got to go wake up Granny before to long. She usually doesn't get out of bed until about 830am but today I have to take her to East Lansing to have her eyes reevaluated. She was almost blind in her right eye. Evidently a stroke had left blood clots on the retina. Since January she has been receiving injections directing into the eye to dissolve the clots. The treatment is a relatively new procedure and the results have been nothing short of amazing. Last Sunday, as we drove from Crystal's to Vicki's, I took mostly secondary roads and she was pointing out the various things she saw. Her vision hasn't been this good in fifty years. I don't care what anyone says, "The good old days are now".
I'm soo stressed out!!! Thursday realized someone stole my mail as well as blank check order!! Closed my bank account to stop anymore withdrawls from my account. This morning found out 2 more checks cleared from the old account on the new account. WHY!?! Thought that was the reason to cancel last account!! I don't know whatelse to do? Couldn't sleep due to stress!
Wow, Cristy! I will pray for the thief to be caught. Is there any way the bank would have to cover your loss with their insurance, like they do with credit card theft?
Have fun on your field trip, Cindy!
Good morning, Everyone. Good coffee, Opa, thank you!
I hope the bank will cover it. Wells Fargo needs to review the case and will come up with an answer within the next 30 days. Until then, this person is robbing me blind and I can't do anything about it.
Hey MJ! I just wanted to thank you again for my Mom's day present! (2 baby turkeys) They are doing pretty good.
I think one is a little weaker than the other one so I'm trying to find a recipe from Sandspoultry. I found it the other day and I guess I didn't save it because now I can't find it again.
I think it was molassas, water and Apple cider vinegar. But I don't know how much of each. Do you have any ideas?
