Well a harpoon would be just a tad bit of an overkill. Try a spear gun.

God sure has a way with light bulbs LOL. Great thinking LOL. Now are you out looking for how that thing got in the barn?

The first night it came through the hole I made in the fence so I could reach through to latch the big sliding door. I fixed that. The second night it climbed 12 foot up the fence and found a weak spot in the stapleing of the fence to the barn and worked it's way in. It kept going back to the hole it used the night before but couldn't get out. The fence is now fixed plus I fixed the opening at the bottom of the big sliding door so at least the coons can't get under the door to climb the fence. Now try doing all this with only one working arm. My girls have hatched out 29 more little chicks so not all was lost and I have enough new babies to rebuild my breeding flock.
God is good.

Way to go Gayle!!!!

I am so glad for the rain, I don't have to run the sprinklers this morning:)

Off to get some house work done. Most is already done, so may have to figure a fun inside game with the kids.

My duaghter, Emily, is making a harness for her call duck. The duck is hanging out in the rec room with us while she braids some yarn. She wants to walk the darn thing:)

have a great day everyone!

Morning! Just wondering to all those who have a garden. Do your chickens get into it? Mine haven't yet and I keep my eye on them. They haven't ever gotten into my flower beds, either (knock on wood). The only fencing we put up for the garden is one line of wire with grocery bags attached to keep the deer out. I hope they don't because I want them to still free range.

We used to have a real problem with our chickens in the flower beds and gardens. They pretty much destroyed them. We solved that problem by processing the whole flock

The past couple years, with the new flocks, we only let them free-range outside of the pen when we are home so we can monitor.

We do wish we could let them free range all the time though
