I had a very nice surprise yesterday. I got my cell phone bill and was expecting it to be high due to the kids' increase in texting. When I opened it, it was only for one penny! I called Verizon and they couldn't figure anything out, but they went ahead and just credited me the penny. What a wonderful surprise (I wonder what next month's bill will be though....)!

hi all you michiganders, I have been on here awhile but never have come across this section before, so I thought I would come say hi and introduce myself.

my name is angela I am a stay at home mom with 4 kids (7,6,4 1/2 and almost 3) plus I am watching 2 more children for teh summer (7 and 5) I have a total of 13 laying girls (deleware, RIR, isa brown, black sex links) 3 guiena hens, 2 male pekins and 2 EE roos) we just recently lost our araucana, she got out somehow during memorial weekend, but I am hoping for at least some of her babies that vicki2x2 is incubating for me (actually my 7 year old since she was her bird, thanks a bunch)
I live on just over 2 acres, my inlaws live next door with another 4 acres for the birds to room around on. I have a decent size garden that I cam hoping for a good size amount of tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, and beans to do a lot of canning this year. I have lots of watermelon, cantaloupe, strawberries and lettuce planted so the kids should be able to have lots of fruits and veggies this year.
I totally love this site, anytime I have a question I can usually find it on here or ask and someone will answer it for me, and I have found some really nice people on here that are willing to help at a drop of a dime, its like a big ole family
I plan on dropping back here often to keep in touch with people here in michigan

oh, thanks vicki, daughter has a count down one her calender to when her chicks will be here, so I am crossing fingers that everything goes well for her

Did anyone see on craigslist that some wants to selll their 12 week BO's because they are wrecking their garden? I don't know how to post the link but thought I would mention it if anyone were interested. They are located in Shelbyville.

Evening all! Welcome to BYC, montcapu!

Hope everybody had a great day. Came in a little bit ago from the garden. Finally planted my pepper plants, tomato plants, and different herbs. We kept having a frost advisory ........ even as late as I think Wednesday or Thursday. Kept waiting because I plant a lot of the peppers and tomatoes and didn't want to have to cover all of them. Seems like June has started out kinda chilly.

Chickenstock? Is that the picnic in August? Would love to come and meet you all, but will have to wait until it's closer for us. Hubby is self employed and can be at the mercy of the semi that brings his goods in. So will have to see if that's a truck week for us.
