One good thing about brown grass is that it doesn't require a lot of mowing. We don't having any rain predicted until Friday and Saturday and that is supposed to be scattered showers. I watered my garden last night and will have to keep watering if I expect anything to grow. First too much rain and now not enough. Seems to be typical Michigan weather.

Today certainly looks like it is going to be another beautiful day. I could get used to this kind of weather. It sure makes working outside rather pleasant.

Morning all. You guys where rather chatty last night I had some reading to do this morning on the back post

Well it's official my little chick I found that I named Mitilda, is now named Miles...and need to find a new home. I had my suspensions, but this morning I hear HIM crow. Well I guess you could call it a crow it sounded more like one of those little birthday thing you blow and it makes noise.

Oh yea, did I mention he also thinks he's a duck...so he has some identity issues...but who doesn't right?

Good morning everyone.

ARGH! We caught a coon in the trap last night. Darned little thing was trying to get into the chicken pen.

After losing too many chickies we put a hot wire on the bottom, hot wire on the top and wire running the length of the peaked top every 6-9 inches so we thought we would be safe. Luckily hubby saw him trying to get in so he baited the trap and the dummy fell for it. Unfortunately DH didn't think to lock up the chickens after seeing the coon trying to get in.

I'll have to train him better

I'm a little nervous to get home from work and check on them. I was gone this morning before hubby left for work and found the coon in the trap.

What a nice little guy wish I was closer I would be tempted to get him and throw him in with some BR hens, that mix would make for some nice designer babies.

Good morning everyone!

I have some fresh black raspberries in the fridge right now that will be made into a pie later today for my dad's work picnic tomorrow. We get $20 bucks just for bringing a dessert, and another $50 if we win with it! The desserts, especially the winning ones, go so fast that I often don't get a piece of my own... I guess I shouldn't worry about that though since I can always make more at home... let others enjoy it, LOL.

The difference between raspberries and blackberries is this:
Blackberries have "cores" that are inside the berry when picked.
Raspberries have a "hole"; they are hollow, without a "core".

Just thought you'd like to know!

Thank you! These are very dark and nice sized, but hollow on the end, when picked... the "stone" stays behind on the branch.
