I have done fine introducing my Serama pair to my standards. I kept them in a flight cage for a few days. I then started letting them out in the yard to free range with the big girls. I did wait until they were sexually mature before I tried. They are so tiny, it is easy to keep them indoors as long as needed. You might want it to have a friend, maybe another bantam chick, so it is not alone.

My kids and I had a really nice treat today.... a visit with Frizzledhen! She brought a pair of bantam cochins to me for the first lap of the Pony Express to MJ's. We had a really nice time with her. She is such an interesting lady with a lot of knowlege, wisdome and good humor. I wish she lived a little bit closer to us. She also sent along a gift to MJ from Monkey....

if Gayle and Monkey worked on it together, there is NO telling what it is! her brains and his ingenuity there is no limit! that little yipper is a smart pup. he's been known to make midnight purchases on my AMEX on QVC!

HAHAHA! Yeah, we've caught 4 chipmucks, 3 rabbits,1 skunk and 1 cat so far. The morning we caught the skunk I saw that the trap had gone off and my 5yr old daughter ran outside to take a look cause looking out at it from the house it looked like maybe we caught a squirrel....ya.....she came running back saying it was a BIG black squirrel! So luckily she didn't get sprayed and we disposed of the little varmit. I have to go buy a new big livetrap...I kinda forgot about my big one while mowing the yard and kapowee....smooshed! LOL Oh well, what are you going to do!
What do you use in your traps to catch the racoons? I usually just use peanut butter and walnuts(or cat food for cats)...but I've never caught a racoon. Anyone ever try the "Where the Red Fern Grows" method where their hand gets stuck when they grab for something shiney?

Maybe along the same line is using marshmallows. I normally use a can of can food but I only punch holes in the lid, then I use several marshmallows. I thing the smell of the cat food draws them and the marshmallows arouses their curiousity.

Talking about Seramas, I was blown away by Cat's pair of sermies. They are just the cutest little dickens. The little rooster strolled around the grounds like he was the biggest most important critter on the place. His lovely little hen obediently followed right beside him. Those two little packages are just filled with attitude.
