Hi guys... how's everyone doing today? The ducks were all raring to go this a.m. They're so funny. They babies heard them and then they started in with their peeping.

MJ... how are the chicks liking being stuck in one pen?

Is it Fair Week in your area? I remember those days, if it is there probably is just too much stuff going on for them to be returning calls for potential members when they probably have a whole bunch of people that need them NOW.

My main club cuts off new membership applications in September simply because the last several months before fair time are way too hectic to properly integrate new members. Ending in September gives us until March-ish to get new members settled. It also guarantees that we don't have any newbies join, attend one meeting, participate in fair, and leave. It has happened a lot in our area.

I just wanted to say that as humans go I am very happy God gave us the know how, how to help and heal ourselves and others.

My son Brody is 6 and we found out the hard way when he was 4 that he is very allergic to all bees. Since then the wonderful Dr. we go to had us start venom therapy. He hasn't been stung in 2 years, till today. He was getting out of my Aunts car and was stung on the front of his neck. With the venom therapy in place and going well all we had to do is give him some allergy meds and put ice on it. At this point it just is a little pink and that is it. I was just thinking that if we had not done the venom therapy we would be in the hospital probably on a breathing tube for awhile if he even made it that far. I am so thankful for the Dr. and modern medicine.

What a blessing to be prepared. This must be bee sting day. My youngest was stung on her leg today. It was her first sting----gave her benadryl right away, just in case, then did the baking soda on the sting thing and she is fine, other than her leg hurts.

Okay---getting ready to take the show birds to my friends house so some lady can come and test them for pollorum or whatever it is I think. This is our first year with birds, so still learning about it all. Saturday is supposed to be the fun day---bathing the chickens and the turkey
