phew, just got done with the chicken run. Now all I have to do is string the 'lectric fencing up around it and I should be all set!!!!!!!

Sarah, thanks for those roosters, they are so funny strutting around the new pen!!!! Shelly, wish I could have taken a couple of pullets off of your hands but I think the wife would have KILLED me for sure. As it was she was giving me the look when I was walking past with a new roo under my arm

Tragedy did strike though

Two of my langshan roo's were found dead in the middle of the run with no signs of injury as soon as we got back from chickenstock. I am going to cross my fingers, add some ACV and sit out there with a book and observe behaviors and make sure I don't have something going around.

Naw, those guys were in a 6 sided cage (old flight pen for quail) and were both laying side by side. I am thinking they got sick or something. Everyone else seemed ok though

She cried last night, but today she tried to put it behind her as we setup the new pen. The chickens are loving their new digs, and other than the ungrateful squawk that sir cocky gave us when we picked him up, they've been running around like little dinosaurs eatings bugs from the old garden area.

My strawberry patch is just beyond their reach in the end of the run and so far they've all tried in vain to poke a head through the mesh to get some berries. Sorry chickes, I made it head and neck proof!!!!

Tomorrow I add the 'lectricity out there. Going to energize a 20x15 area with a 2 mile charger muahahahahhahahaha

Thanks. I have been sitting out there off and on seeing if the rest of them seem sick somehow, but fortunately everyone is healthy so far.

I appreciate it hillbilly! I just wish I didn't tire out so easily. I was going to bring two cars in case the grand baby was getting tired or whichever but said what the hay because me and her tire out at the same rate now a days!!!

I can't wait for the next get together!!!! Even if it's an informal, I had oodles of fun. It's great to meet lots of people who think the same way with the same values as you. Hoping to do this again soon!

Sorry to hear about your 2 roos Boyd!

Rachel's lowest chicken in the pecking order dissappeared a few days ago. Well low and behold it was in front of the house this evening! She is skinny but in excellent shape. So Rachel is out getting her food and water.

Off to help with chores. We enjoyed an awesome roasted chicken dinner tonight. Hubby even thanked me twice! That hasn't happened in a long time

My 15 year high school class reunion was fun! Not many there considering I graduated with almost 400 people. The ladies all looked the same but the guys changed a lot!

I love the idea about getting together at Fowl Fest! We will be up there showing on Saturday. A lunch get together sounds great. There is a lot of open grass area to have one, dont' remember picnic tables though....

I hear you Boyd, I tire out very easy. It's going to take me a couple days to recover from getting ready for chickenstock and then unloading everything when we got home. I meant to get one of your beers but I fgorgot!
