I kept finding Chick poop on my front porch, well i found out this morning way.
i feed a couple cat that come around.

Ok I had to share here first. I just went out for the daily ice water for the chickens and low and behold my first egg!!!!

Just a little medium sized one but I am so happy someone started to lay. 21 weeks old.

My first egg laid was like, getting the much wanted, wished for christmas present to me. I was like a little kid all smiles.

I have 23 Isa hens that should start laying in a couple weeks. Cant wait.

they are totally different breeds. Barred Rocks are Plymouth Rocks of the Barred color. the comb shape and leg color will be different from the Doms.

Doms are smaller and have rose combs. Doms are more rare here in the north. in the north Doms are called Dominiques (dom-i-neeks), in the south Domineckers (dom-i-neckers).

Victor...i am feeling a bit better but i am really exhausted. going to the doctor today again. whoopie! i know, you are all jealous. say some prayers all. i need this potassium to stay where it's supposed to so my heart will pump!

Briana..that is great! congrats! the first one tastes the best. hug the boys for me! tell them 'that lady that likes feathers' says congratulations!

Laura...the docs said it's a combo of things. i take a water retention med and i have been losing weight for two months (down 30 lbs!). that can do it. i also have trouble absorbing vitamins and minerals. so there you have it. the docs gave me these HUGE potassium pills. i am going to the health food store and seeing about some natural supplements as well as some magnesium that Crystal info'd me on too.

Briana...don't worry about me ma'am. i have plenty of help around here. these kids have stepped right up to fill in. and they've done a good job. it might not be perfect, but it's getting done. banana bread is lovely but don't you be doing stuff for us, you just come get your chickies!
