You should have been down this way a week ago sunday. Its started raining saturday afternoon and didnt stop until aprox 6 am Sunday morning. The storm were horrible. Worse I've seen in my lifetime. We ended up with just short of 13 inches of rain in less than 24 hours. Its sad to see what happened to all the homes along the path of our lake and dam when it broke. And where we are, you cannot get flood insurance as we are not in a flood plane. And in this area, most dont have jobs anymore unless you farm.
I was one of the lucky ones with only a wet basement where the water ran under the walk-out door and my horse barn flooded and ran out the back and into my pond. Was pretty scary having both grandbabies and trying to find a road around me that didnt have wave of water raging over it or trees down across the road where they washed out. Took me over and hour to get out of here with the help of a neighbor showing me where to go to get out.
Needless to say... I pray we dont get hit hard, this community cannot take any more drama or disaster.
