love the Tigers! so fun. have a blast!

sorry, Laura, i haven't heard from her myself.

isn't that strange, LMC??? they literally told me they LEGALLY cannot carry it. that is so bizarre. it's a totally strange thing.

Good Afternoon!

The tea party is offically done. All the kids had a great time, especially since they all had to stay in the house.

Jon is on his way to pick up our processed chickens. Need to check on freezer space.

The girls are spending the night at my cousins house with her kids. Gonna be a lot of fun.

Rachel has 6 out 15 pipped so far.

Talk to you all later! Have a wonderful weekend!

oh, that is wonderful! sounds like it is going well.

don't talk about freezer space! i have to get a bunch of ducks done and then a bazillion pear pies or fried pears or something done with all the pears on my trees.

then comes all the meat chickens. (oh my)

then the extra turkeys. and cull chickens from the layers.
and prolly the extra guineas now that i think of it.

oh goodness gracious! good thing we have four freezers or i would be hurting!!!

Okay, MJ --------- I have an appointment at the processors in November for my meaties. They would be at 12 1/2 weeks. If I decided to keep until 14 weeks, I may end up doing it myself. So you do your own by yourself, right??????

Not really sure if this is the right place to put this. I have a question on rehoming some extra birds i have and not sure if I should list them here or perhaps put them on craig's list.

I'll put emm here first as i think they would be better off going to chicken folks first.

I have the following, if anyone is interested PM me.

A few Mille Fluer D'uccle cockerels, 18 weeks old. (pronounced DUK-EL, as Miss_jayne)

Two Salmon Favoroles cockerels, 18 weeks old. (Fav-a-rolis, sounds like ravoli)

A dark mohogany-red Turken cockerel, crows in middle C, very amusing.

Two nine week old blue-grey and red EE cockerels. Friendly birds...

Six Welsumer cockerels, nine weeks old.

If you'd like pics i will post them.

Thanks fellow BYCers and Michiganders....

Rachel is hatching bantam lavender ameraucana and bantam EE.

The first one has hatched! An EE looks black to me. So lonely! Cuddling up next to the other eggs and cheeping.

Waiting for a call from the lady we are buying a call drake from. She is on her way to the state fair and stopping at the exit by our house so we can get him.

Good Night All!
Sarah

Good luck on selling your roos. We have too many already. There are swap meets around the state that you could sell them at too. Just a thought.

Good Morning people. Just looked out at the chicken coop and the lightgs are on. Still dark and it's almost 6am. Yep, the days are getting shorter and I'm not ready for summer to be over so soon.
MJ, you should can some of those pears. When I make them I like to add cinnamon red hot candies to the syrup that I pour in the jars. It gives the pears a very pretty color and they taste fantastic.

Who stocks DE in Michigan? I can't find any, nor does it seem that any of the stores I go to can get it. I'm in Monroe County but don't mind driving a bit to get some.
