Hello everyone, Well Fall is upon us.

Hey Where has Rhandi been, dont tell me something else happen, I will have to give her a call later today.

Oh my Gosh the neighbors turkey is driving me crazy, we share a big chicken coop in his yard, and then in my yard i have a duck and chicken coop, well his turkey keeps coming over here, eating all my feed, and then at night goes on the roof of my chicken coop, so i have to chase it back to it coop, and i spoke to the neighbor yesterday asked me if still wants this turkey, because it keeps coming over and poop on my chicken coop and eating my out of house and home, he said he would take care of her, and what do i see last night when i go to close everyone up, the Turkey on the roof of my coop

have a beautiful day!

i cannot wait until fowl fest!

Just a wild idea—I wonder if you could use that rolled up in-floor heating somehow to keep the waterers ice free? Maybe cut a piece to fit in a box to set the water fount on? Just trying to "think outside the box"!

If the water got too hot, we could make them tea!

Good Afternoon!

We have had chickens for 12 years. I don't have anything insulated. They have always done fine, they just eat more

Off to get the kids going on school work. We went to Lansing this morning to the chiroparator.

We used this method for water last winter and had no problems!
put a christmas tree light inside of a cyinder block and then have the water container on top of the cyinder block...works great!

Happy Wednesday, ya'll!

Rhandi, I was wondering where you'd been as well. Glad things are just busy and there's not anything "wrong".

hustonn, great idea with the Christmas lights/cinder block!

My flock is driving me crazy lately. There's a walnut tree across the road that is, of course, dropping walnuts. Now, there are a couple of walnut trees right in the yard that drop them as well -- BUT the walnuts in the road get run over by cars and thus, apparently, make much better eating. We're rural and the road doesn't get all that much traffic, but come ON!

Needless to say I've spent entirely too much time sweeping fallen walnuts out of the ROAD lately. Can't even get my kitchen floor swept, buy by golly that dirt road is clean as a whistle.

:cafGood morning everyone. Its a cold one this morning 32 degrees right now. Thank God for a good woodstove. I love this time of the year -- cold night, falling leaves, and camp fires!! DH and DS are going bow hunting this weekend. DS is trying for his first with the bow:fl He's sooo excited.

Sad news

My husband called me this morning (I was already at work) and said that the motion sensor light on the pen was on this morning. Sooo, he went to check it out and find out why. He said that he found all my dixie rainbow babies out (before 6:30am) and also our frizzle. He then told me he found one of the rainbows mooshed by the water bowl. I don't know why they would have been out this morning

Hubby thinks maybe the roosters wouldn't let them in the coop but as long as I've had them that's never happened. I guess we go back to locking everyone in at night and then letting them out before work in the morning

When I left for work this morning I couldn't believe my car was frosted over!!! Holy cow, is it really only October 1st?

We have one and heat our house, pole barn, and hot water all winter with it. We have geothermal heat pumps in the house and we have water pipes under the floor to heat the house and barn.
