Yes it all adds up! I am ready to throw my scale away! I don't like that the pounds don't move.... but I am losing inches so that is awesome! My new jeans that I just bought last week ( down a size from the last ones I had for a year!) Are already loose! I am so excited

Keep up the excellent work ladies!

Praise report on our afternoon excitement!

Nathan (just turned 3) and the dog (just turned 1) dissappeared this afternoon.

They headed out to play and then the girls headed out to the barn with Jon. Gretchen said she would make sure he was ok and I never heard from her...figured they all went in the barn. Little while later Jon comes in and I ask him Nathan and Leo are in the barn with you right?!? NOPE! Yell like crazy no dog comes a running.... we have 10 acres plus 18 wrapped around us with the railroad tracks and I-96 on 2 sides of us.

My gut told me the tracks. Jon said no way. I told him to go and look and I took the tractor and drove around the mowed perimeter of the 18 acres. Jon called me saying that he found Nathan he was the next road over at the rail road tracks. The school bus found him at the crossing and called the cops and waited til they got there. What a life saver! Jon walked down and got him...it is a good 1/2-3/4 mile to the crossing. Jon found a hole in the fence during his search.

Nathan said Leo ran off and he was trying to get him to come back home.

I am finally calmed down enough to function again. Nathan was gone for about 1 hour. Seemed like an eternity! I am so glad that the ecomony is down and there are not alot of trains going through.

Only injury to Nathan is he wore his rubber boots with no socks on the wrong feet. So he has some rub marks.

Praising God that all turned out well! And Nathan and the dog will not be left alone together!

there are some 4-H er's from Livingston County showing down there. We cannot go....Rachel has her yearly piano recital on Saturday night.

Have a great time!

This sounds similar to my oldest son, except he was famous other types of outings!! He would do it on purpose, because he thought it was funny to "hide!"

After almost giving me a heart attack a couple of times, we fixed that problem. Installed locks up high on the doors, so he couldn't leave without us knowing and bought a wrist leash for when we went out. His favorite trick was to take off in a store, his sister was a newborn and he would take off running while I was trying to get her into the cart or looking at something and then hide under clothes racks, etc. If he started to get antsy, I would bring out the leash and ask if he needed to wear it. He despised that leash!! It only took wearing it twice to fix the running off problem!!

Sarah, glad your little guy was okay. One of mine disappear at a campground for a couple of hours. It sure wasn't a good feeling.

Speaking of good feelings, Babzoo and Vicki2x2 came for lunch today. What a pleasant visit. Sure is nice visiting with chicken people.

Caleb wandered away from me at the Detoit Zoo, when he was 2. That was the most horrifying 30 seconds of my life... looking around at a sea of people, trying to find my little one. I too, bought a wrist leash! Never minded the ugly comments people made, I knew right where he was! He was quiet but quick!

Wow Sarah! Scary for Mom glad Nathan was ok. Way to go on the inches lost too! That is great, you are right to go by inches and not the scale, muscle does way more than fat! Keep up the good work ladies!

Good evening all.

Wylie I am glad to hear your son was found safe and sound.

Well we had our very first predator today. A hawk. Either a Coopers or Sharp Shinned hawk. We were walking through our nature trails and the chickens were following us like always when they get to free range.

Five of them followed my husband over the bridge into the open field and he was trying to chase them back into the trails while I called them.

Then there was a big comotion down the trail and a hawk kinda smashes into the brush about 10 feet in front of me.

When I get to the comotion there is my silkie roo and our big SG tom strutting and jumping with the rest of the flock in the dense brush hidding.

All the chickens were counted and no one was hurt. Mr. Splash our little roo is very protective of his ladies. That and the turkeys keeping a good eye on the sky. Hopefully it won't be back but I have a feeling it will or another one.

When my son Carter was 2, we were at our 4H fair putting up the plaques in the small animal barn and Carter was with me and play hiding with one of the older 4Hers Next thing I know the kid asked wheres Carter? I siad he was with you. We all went looking had the horse posse looking and it was being anounced on the PA all over the Fair Grounds. Funny thing was his name was Carter and he had a shirt that said Carter Clothing on the front on, made it easy to find him.
Found him wondering around the camping area looking for his dad. He just was at the wrong camp. Now he's 12 and I am always looking for him at fair and everyone watches out for him. I swear I'm going to put a GPS Tracking system on him.

Glad it all turned out ok for you Sarah

Had a wonderful time visiting at Opa's today. Great lunch and wonderful time talking with Granny and Sam.
