Good morning all, Hope came home from work with 14 dozen paczskis. She took 6 dozen over to the Alanon club and today I'll take the balance to the Salvation Army's homeless shelter. I sure don't want them around here any longer than necessary. Well maybe a couple of them can stay.

Good morning Everyone

I recieved the bandettes for my girls yesterday. Yellow for last years girls and pink for this years. I made up 3 lists with names and their number on it. One is posted inside the coop, one by the slider on the back porch where they always hang out, and the kids and their friends are always asking me who is that, is this Apple? and one in my chicken binder where all of thier info is kept. OCD is my middle name

Good morning all! thought I'd drop a line before heading to work. We're having a heat wave - 30 degrees right now. Last night when I got out of work at 7pm, it was 38!! By this weekend, its suppose to drop below 0. Talk about a spring teaser. Its not fair -- I WANT SPRING!! Have a good one.

Good Morning! The sun is shining...quick go look out your window before it's just a memory!!
Had an exciting night! Was at my oldest daughter's house with my 4 young grand daughters and older grandson when the switch on the wall started popping and glowing! First thing I did was tell the grand kids to get their boots and coats on and then called 911. Kids loved the firetrucks that came and all the firemen/volunteers! Had them in the car with a movie playing but think they were more interested in the firetrucks. Luckily, there was no fire in the walls. Guess the two neutrual wires came in contact with each other causing the sparks, and popping. My daughter's father in law is an electrician so he came out and fixed it. Luckily, it did not short out the TV. Kids had a tale to tell their parents when I took them home. I tell you I was freaking when I saw that switch glowing. I had all my grandkids there. The fire dept. were out there within minutes! Kids loved all the sirens!

They didn't know how scared I was for them. My daughter lives in a duplex with only one exit.
Hope you all enjoy the sunshine while you can. Have a good one!

Good Morning everyone! Wow Rose, glad everyone is fine! One exit?! Is that even legal? Good thing you noticed it when you did, or things could have been much worse!

Glad to see so many people chatting on here, it is more fun that way! Hey Kris, glad you popped in to say Hi! Well, back to the grind, tons of errands and chores to do!

Yeah, can you imagine if it happened during the night when everyone is asleep? Send shivers down my spine. I guess if you want to call a window on the 2nd floor, over a overhang over the door an exit??????? That always scares me, seeing the one exit. And the doorway is in the kitchen, so if ever a kitchen fire was to start, they'd be in big trouble. Thanks everyone for alll your good thoughts!

Chickflick I am so glad that everything turned out all right. Are there enough smoke detectors in the house?

Oooopsi Daisy The kids are starting to choose names for your babies when we get them. We're thinking Henrietta,Corabelle, Willow and Eloise so far. With all your girls and the girls we are ordering tomorrow, its going to be a big debate. Even the kids are starting to get excited now. We are going to go buy two big totes like you suggested for our brooders. Hubby is going to work on the hardware cloth frame tops this weekend.

Have a good Afternoon everyone.

Super slow posts - warmer weather, melting snow for now. But looks like we're in for some cold temps this weekend. My school is on winter break next week, we always end up with really bad winter weather - I'm going to Florida to sit it out.

So warm and sunny today!! It was so beautiful it had me wishing for spring and picturing my crocuses and irises popping up through the ground.

Kinda sad when mid to high 30s seems warm.

Got the big brooder almost ready for the hen and her eggs. The big brooder is about 4.5 x 4 feet. It is in the basement. Will I need a heat lamp for them even with mama hen in with them? I know I need chick feed and waterers low for chicks, just wasn't sure on the heat? The basement runs around 60 degrees.
