Charlie is adorable!

An update on Mrs Fluffy the silkie. She has not been successful at hatching the golfball or laying an egg yet.

She does squat when she comes over to tell you about her day, and I suspect she is also telling us Mr. Fluffy is a tool. All he does is dance for her, and she just ignores him.
So, hopefully someday Mrs. Fluffy will have an egg. I have also noticed she keeps the RIR's company while they are laying an egg, so maybe she is getting some pointers.

I wonder if they would let me bring a halter yak to Chicken Stock? LOL! I could bring a couple of lambs, a couple of baby yaks, some ducklings....... Boy, Lansing would be lovin' me. LOL! Hey, it would be free fertilizer.

The silkies are from Shelley, and they are actually my daughters. They are 8 months or close to it. The male cracks me up, he actually helps me catch the two big roosters when I need to. The female has been going back and forth between hatching a golf ball in the nest box, or laying her first egg for the past month or so. She's also very chatty. I swear she is telling me what the "big" chickens did all day, like she is tattle telling.

Hello Hens and Roos,,, Just wanted to let you all know Im selling off 6 Pure Lavender Orpington Roos... from Jodie.. I had quite a few people last fall from michigan tell me they were interested but I didn't save names. So If anyone out there is interested let me know. Im keeping two myself for the project and the rest are up for rehoming. These are healthy beautiful boys. They need to be moved though cuz they are starting to fight with themselves.. they need a bigger area, which I do not have.

Today I put my bantam blue orpington rooster back in with all of the bantam hens. He immediately started dancing. I guess he is now a happy camper. One day later this week I will probably put him and the hen in the tractor by themselves. I should soon have fertile eggs and the hatching mania begins.

Yeah, she comes over chatting, and waits to be pet or picked up. She just started squatting when you do that. I have noticed she gets irritated if you don't pet her quick enough.

Great news Opa!

I plugged in the new incubator we picked up last week. It's working well. The only thing it was missing, was the plastic liner. I'm going to order that from cutler's later this week.

Good morning. Looks like we have another reasonable day headed our way. I for one will be glad to see the snow leave but I'm am hoping that it leaves slowly. If not things could become excessively damp.
