I feel we must all do our part to keep our freedom right to raise and farm as we wish. What are they going to do next? make us all get permits to raise chickens and other poultry. Very unsettling to me.

Yes I have muscovies and they should start laying any day now. Their poor little bellies are almost dragging the ground. Vicki2x2 no longes has muscovies. Most of my ducks are from her including her gorgeous blue drake.

All you MI Peeps! I've been getting emails lately from a 16 yr. old girl from MI:
"hi my name is Cassie and well I'm 16 years old and well IM in need so some free chicken eggs for my 4-H project so i no you have to feed your chickens so please can you help me out i live in Clarkston Michigan 48348"

I'm in NJ and would love to donate some eggs to her 4-H group, but I'm thinking that somewhere on this warm-hearted website are some wonderful sweet people that may just live closer to Cassie and be willing to help her & her group out! She's just looking for 10-12 eggs to hatch out.

I had a power failure!! A stupid four hour long &^$%#%&%^&*%^^ power failure!!!!!
My muscovy eggs are in the incubator! The temp went down to 74 degrees- maybe for an hour- then I managed to get it up to 84- for about an hour- before the power came back on.
Someone PLEASE tell me that my eggs will live through that.

I really want to scream at DTE.
I was sleeping- and woke up to the crying peeps of my little fuzzies...distress peeps. Im sorry you are cold, little peeps...oh NO MY EGGS>>>

Oh, I mean, good morning everyone. The coffee is NOT on here yet. If I want coffee, I need to get my butt out the door and walk my dog. My own motivation. Because it is cold and yucky and I dont' feel like it. But I will. Then I will come home and enjoy my coffee.

AND its spring-forward day, so I feel like I am running behind. Happens every time.

I think I need to go to sleep again, and wake back up. I am in a really rotten mood- worrying about my eggs. Didnt have a power failure of any significance with all the snow all winter long- but let me put soon-to-be-illegal to get eggs in the incubator and POW!

Well, maybe walking my dog til I drop will settle my mood.

Some mornings require more effort than others to discover the bright side. M2EA, I wouldn't give up on the eggs yet. While that was quite a while to be without heat the loss was gradual so they weren't at the low point the entire time. We'll all keep our fingers crossed for you.

It was very windy last night at my house. It kept me up most of the night.

I wish it was this temp but sunny outside at least. This mud is driving me bonkers. I've washed the floor twice already.
