What is Chickenstock?

I haven't posted on here a while but my call ducks just started laying so I am trying to figure out how to hatch the eggs. They keep laying them in the tractor I have them in but haven't sat on them since they started laying 4 days ago. Do you think they'd still be alright with the cooler weather we've been having ?

If your ducks are only laying eggs but not incubating them the eggs will be good for up to 2 weeks and still be hatchable.

Opa -- I forgot to mention I was in Target on Wednesday and they still had a LOT of Easter stuff left at 75% off. I wasn't sure what, if anything, you might be able to use so didn't pick anything up. But I will be back in Lansing on Monday and can look again if there's anything specific you need for Chickenstock.

SweeChee, the coop is so beautiful and well thought out I hate to even ask a question but it looks like you are using 2x4 for your roosts. I can't tell from the picture but they should be installed with the width being the roosting surface

Does anyone go to the Imlay City Bird Swap? I've never been and was wondering if it was worth the drive? Or should I just wait 'till Chickenstock? I don't know if I could convince my family that 2 weekends should be spent with chickens...

We have Hunter Saftey Class with my husband and the boys all day tomorrow. So far it has been very interesting. The boys are learning a lot.

All the new chicks are doing well except the little D'uccels. 2 have died so far and another one isn't looking good.

They all seem to have a lot of feather growth for just hatching. I am thinking they were older than the others and 2 days in a cold box with no food or water didn't help them out.
