Hi, Michiganders!

Well, our first chicks are 5 weeks old now and out in the coop with a heat lamp! Smooth sailing so far!

I am wondering about food grade DE. I'm in Livonia. Is it necessary to get some soon? Anyone sell it locally?

7chicks -- I am so glad you and your home are okay. We use a space heater in the house and have relegated the heat lamps to outside use only for that reason. Scary stuff.

HBH -- You're in my thoughts. I hope everything goes well.

On today's agenda is getting the australorp chickies into the brooder in the coop. It's TIME!

Love my chicklets... I tried the meat tenderizer but no luck. Best to just try to keep it picked up so she can't get access to it. I have a couple of pooh eaters at home too.



Hmmmm morels! We had a bunch pop up last year, will have to go check today!

HBH-I hope everything went well, I'm keeping you in my thoughts. Positive thoughts can only bring good things. If the world would think positively perhaps we could change it.

My husband walked in (I called him about the house) and looked at the big black mark on the floor, looked at me and said, "you're right, it is genetic" and walked away shaking his head. (he tries to burn the house down on a regular basis)
