Hey Everyone! I have a few questions that hoping someone Im sure can answer.
We are building our first chicken coop. We have 14 chicks as of now. 2 buff orps, 4 Silver Laced Wyandottes, 6 Rhode Island Reds, and 2 Barred Rocks. Now we are trying to figure out what a good size coop is for them. I was thinking maybe a 10x10, but my husband found some guy that builds them and he said that he has made quite a few for 13 chicks and the average size is a 6x8 coop. Saying that its nice to have a big coop, but you will more often then not find all your chickens huddled together up on the roosts and not using the whole coop anyways. Any input would be great as we are first time chicken keepers and need all the help we can get to make sure we do everything right. Thanks in Advance!
