Cannot wait to meet you! I am so excited too

I got candy in eggs, cards for the raffle, and my strawberry pretzel dessert all done and ready to go. Load chickens and poults in the morning. We will be hopefully getting ready to leave the house by 7:30 or 8:00am. Can't wait to see everyone and meet new people.

The van is washed (a rare thing), fueled up and ready to go.

Just got home at 10pm, spent the evening at a good friends home and had dinner there. So I have my alarm set for 6am to make some desserts before a pull out time of around 9am. Oldest DD is babysitting for my sister's kids and spending the night. My sister is suppose to have her back by 8:30am, so she can load chickens. I don't have enough carriers to get them all there! I see a few boxes and I am bring metal cages (like the ones at the fair) to put them in before they are sold.

I got chicks!!!
We did get to Chickenstock, but BF and I had gone to a small animal swap in Charlotte earlier in the morning and had gotten the chicks there. We weren't sure that the small animal swap would have the chicks we wanted but lo and behold they did, so we finally gave in and got'em.
I talked to a few people at Chickenstock and may get a couple white silkies from another BYC member when they hatch. Not too sure on the sex of the chicks I have now, and any roo's will find a new home before they disturb the neighbors.

But I got chicks!!!!

3 silkies, 2 ameraucana/EE's and a light brahma that was too cute to pass up. The brahma we think is a week or so older than the others because it's bigger and more mature looking than other chicks. Only one has a name right now, and that is an EE/ameraucana we have started calling Chipmunk because of it's coloring.

I'm so excited! I really want to just sit and play with them, but I am letting them rest and get adjusted to their new surroundings.
I plan on getting pictures of the cute lil fuzz butts soon!

Chickenstock was fun. My boys said they had the best time. We got the truck unloaded chicks settled in and all of our chickens now have extra cold water to try and keep cool with. It is actually hotter here at home than it was in Lansing. Temp says 92 outside.

Thank you all for an amazing great time!
I consider Chickenstock was a huge success, and everything seem to go smoothly. It was great meeting you all- wonderful people our group is!!!
Sam- what a wonderful person you are! Im very glad to have met you in person, and you were everything I already knew you would be! What a great host- and I would be proud to adopt Granny as my own any time you decide you want to share her!

Briana- very glad to meet you today! AND YES!! I didnt think we were going to survive the drive home with no air conditioning..and it just kept getting hotter and hotter the closer we got to home. I am trying to clean up and am going to take the girls to the movies- for the simple fact that it is air conditioned and I cant cool down. lol. I am telling them it was because they worked so hard today, they earned it.

Wynette-
My girls are doing the limbo in the backyard.. I forget that children tolerate heat much better than I do. lol
Thank you!

Vicki-

Thank you again! My Male pigeon waited the typical 2.2 seconds before he flew down and started doing some male cooing/ mating ritual to the new girl. lol. "Heyyyy...welcome to MY place..." lol lol lol.

Kinda sorry I didn't go, but I don't need any more chickens! lol

We took DD out to the lighthouse in Tawas and spent the day out there. Though cool, cloudy and windy, we had fun. However, I, with my fear of heights, did NOT enjoy climbing a steep, twisty, rickety staircase 50 feet straight up with the last 6 feet no hand rail!!!

Got a few pictures of the chicks. They still seem to be quite skittish and wound up when we are out there, though after a while they do settle down and fall asleep. Posting thumbnails to save on space.
This is Chipmunk:

The brahma is in front here and the chick behind her might be the top hen with the way she picks at all the others:

And two of the silkies. We have 2 black and 1 partridge colored.
