Glad you found us! Today we had our annual get together. Hope to meet you next year!

I go to south Fenton every Monday to an archery club. The kids and I shoot with JOAD.

Glad to meet a lot of you today! Everyone is settled in and the baby duck is so cute in with the meat chicks and the chicks that the girls won today.

next week I am taking all the extra roo's up to Gyer's to their weekly small animal auction. I thought about it this morning, stoppin by on my way, but then we would of been really late!

Off to get kids ready for bed, I am past ready to lay down in the air conditioning!

Thanks again for the wonderful day! I enjoyed meeting many of you fine folks today at Chickenstock! My 2 new hens are settling into their temporary quarantine pen just fine. They are enjoying the fan I set up for them. Hope it cools down a bit!

Wish I could have gone today, but my Sebright pullet took a turn for the worse and died. I did an autopsy on her, and her right lung was loaded with worm-like things (the left lung had a few, but not as bad). I had suspected worms, because her symptons (gaping, lethargy, and coughing) pointed towards worms in my online research. I had treated her (and the rest of the flock) with piperazine 17, but I think by the time she showed symptoms it was too late. So I'm kinda bummed - out of my TSC bantam haul, she was the only pullet. I plan to ignore the sticker shock and use Ivomec when I retreat in two weeks.

Hope everyone who did go had a great time. At the very least, I have something to look forward to next year!

Had an absolutely great time!!! I have to say, I have not had that much fun in a long time. Everyone was just so wonderful and nice. It was great talking with everyone. The trio has settled in nicely in the nursery for now. I think I am going to name the rooster Oliver. I already have BO hens named Alice and Lisa, so Oliver seems a fitting name for him. Now to decide on a name for the new ones. Thanks Hillbilly Rooster for them. They were so quite on the way home, I almost forgot about them. I think I am going to love them bunches!!!

We met a very nice man at chickenstock. His name is Bruce. He was talking to my husband and isn't on the website. If any of you know him can you please pm me. He wanted a couple BO roos for his pullets and won't be able to make the long trip to get them. I want to see if I can find a way to get them to him.

SO SAD for my daughter Kayla.

The frizzle she picked out from Cathy- well, she was doing great in their yard, hanging out with the one Tiffany picked out- we went to the movies and I just now went to find them and lock them in the coop and she was drowned in the little kiddy pool.

She is crushed and crying.

I feel so bad.

Im feeling battered by mommy guilt and sadness for her- not like her to cry over a loss (been too many from the now-gone weiner dog) and did she ever cry! Mommy guilt because I should have should have should have known better. I didnt think. And I have read sad stories like this, I really should have known better. Poor pullet.

Had a great time - fun to put faces to names - who made the chicken cards for the give away??? - Whom ever it was did a wonderful job! VERY NICE and glad we won them in the raffel!
Sam, THANKS SO MUCH for all of your efforts - just finishing up putting everyone away - had a graduation party to go to after we got home this afternoon - thanks also for the buttercup and mystery chicks - you KNOW who you ARE! DH is keeping me away from you two!
