Good Evening!

Went for a bike ride at dusk. Only went 3 miles. Hard to miss the potholes in the dark! Amazing at all the lighting bugs! Hubby was on his way home from town and he clocked me at 20 mph. Not too bad

Off to check the traps one last time.

Good Night!

Hello Everyone.

Havent been around here lately. Been so busy outside. We are still in deliberations with the township over the chickens. We did have the state come out and we have the letter from the MDA that states that we are a bonified poultry facility. And are working well within GAAMPS. That was the clincher for the Twp. Now they know we have them over a barrel. With all of our ducks in a row so to speak. They know their ordinaces banning poultry won't hold up in a jury trial. THEY DO NOT WANT TO GO TO COURT. Whoo hoo! Instead they want us to put up a picket fence that we were planning to anyway. In the mean time I painted the family sign and put it up on the side of the garage. Its 4x8. We figure if the Twp is going to be upset, give them a little something to complain about. You know shake it up a bit. Twp Supervisior stopped by the other day, and didn't say one word about the sign. Huuummmm....

YOU GO GIRL...and thanks for just being YOU. I knew you could do it. You were determined from the start. Glad you stuck with it, instead of bow'n down like most do. Again , HORRRAY!!!

iluvcks, glad to read that you have persevered in your battle to have chickens. Far to often some township officials think that they are infallible and pass ordinances that are inane. As a builder I can appreciate the battle that you have fought. Congratulations.

I just went out to check to see if I was able to catch anymore coons last night and somehow the marshmallows are gone from one trap without it being triggered. but the other has one in it. I'll wait for daylight to dispatch it as I don't want to possibly wake the neighbors with a gunshot. It's a shame that we have to do this but there are entirely too many raccoons. They are the leading source of distemper and rabies and our suburban evironment is ideal conditions for their increasing numbers. With very few people trapping them for fur, and no predator to keep their numbers in check, it falls to us to try and reduce their numbers.

Morning Sam,

This is off topic but thought Id put it out there for you. YOU are such a handsome man, why dont you put your own pictures on your avatar than those that you do? Seriously.

This morning is so beautiful. Everything has been cleaned through the night, smells so crisp here as the sun is just starting to rise.

A good day to you all.

Good morning all!! Very slowly my grass is greening up again. We had 3 heavy rain storms come thru yesterday. At least that is what I was told because we were at the Tigers game. Thank you Mrschickendad. That makes since to me. This will be such a cute chicken.

These 2 chicks now being in the brooder are the cutest things ever. They cuddle up together under a stuffed doggie like it's their mama. I am keeping my fingers crossed that they are females.

Every once in awhile Sam puts his own pictures up.

Most farm markets I've been to already have lots of home-baked goods. If you're in Ann Arbor, go to the one in Saline. My mother always buys all kinds of baked goods there along with raw honey, veggies and fruits.

Good Morning!!!! Sad to say but today I am another year older

Busy day running kids to 3 different activities (Rachel's piano, 4 kids in archery, and Rachel and Emily to a hog showmanship workshop.) and work on the last few fair projects.

Got to sleep in til 7am then went and did some of the chores and biked and exersiced. (Luckily, no bad muscle or joint pain with being older!

Off to move the meat chicken pen, amazing the amount of poo that comes out of those things!!!!!
