That looks like broody chicken poop! My silkie used to do that when she would sit on eggs all day long for days at a time, then rush out real fast and eat, poop a pancake, then run back to her eggs.
You said she hasnt laid eggs?
Could something else be wrong- internal laying/egg bound, etc- and the coccidia is just coincidental?

no she's not laying and i don't feel anything in her abdomen...she lays this at night when roosting and smaller amounts during the day...this is much larger than any other broody poops I've seen and she's not broody.

MCW, good luck with your trail ride. I haven't owned a horse since 1976 and sometimes I find myself wishing I still did. I used to ride alot and rode the Shore to Shore Trail from Empire to Oscoda back in 72. Last summer I rode in the Ozarks with my granddaughter on a short jaunt of 8 miles, and was surprised that I didn't get sore. I think the saving factor was that I was riding a gaited mule. Sure is a nice enjoyable low impact way to see the country.

Apparently theres a house in the middle of Lansing that people seem to think it's OK to just abandon their unwanted ducks there!

I met the gentleman today bc he posted an ad on CL about female pekins he had for sale. People have been dropping off their unwanted Easter ducks at his house for years. So sad, I hate it when people get animals without considering the real upkeep and care they deserve. I took the four pekins home and even got a mallard!! The pekins are are quite dirty and look emaciated compared to my plump birds! The mallard looks decently healthy. I just hope they all get along, Penelope, my original female gets a little mean with the other birds sometimes, but I'm sure things will be fine. My husband wants to keep her, but I'm not sure yet. I'll think about it over the weekend.

I would love to get 2 or 3 more female ducks... Darkwing really needs a break from Flipper!! Since they are Pekins & can mate but the offspring are sterile.. I do not care. I just want to save Darkwing from having to say she has a migraine

......because Flipper does not care! I would drive - from TC to wherever ... PLEASE let me know if you need to get rid of some female ducks !!

Thanks!

If they mate with Muskovies - they wind up being sort of a hybrid like a mule. If you cross a Horse with a Donkey you get a Mule 99% of Mules are sterile.. the chromosomes are not the same. Muskovies are South American perching ducks... most others are derivatives of Mallards.. SO,,,,, if a Muskovy breeds with a mallard derivative ... they are sterile. ( please forgive me I taught Biology for 30 years:) I cannot help it ! My daughters always complain that I tell them much more than they asked for

Thanks Opa and Briana,

I'd like to get a gaited mule for DH, but not now. Just found out I have to pay back some of my unemployment (long story) so big purchases are on hiatus until I get that paid off.

Leaving tomorrow morning.

Oooo! I would love to of had a bio teacher for my mom! I was worried bc I have some pekin eggs in my gator and was afraid they'd be sterile. Since they're the same breed I don't think that'll be the case. Thank goodness!!

So yea, the odd duck is a mallard drake. Hmm, I guess I'll just keep him and he'll just be my Fes (foreign exchange student, from That 70s Show) lol
