When is your surgery? Praying for you
hugs.gif

I don't know for sure yet if I will be having surgery. I will be seeing another specialist in Jackson on Oct 22 and he will determine if I should have surgery since I have such a low tolerance to meds. The next med to try would be chemo. I feel like if the prednisone is making me this sick then the chemo would be even worse. Right now I am weaning back off the prednisone and i will wait till my appointment in Oct to see what happens. Thanks so much for the prayres.

Vicki, no, the wing tip isn't turning, the wing is just hanging like it's too heavy for her to keep in. A while back I posted pics of them bleeding. We went out there one morning and that wing was bleeding! She's been fine since but gradually that wing has been hanging more. They are eating duck pellets right now. They were eating something else but I can't remember right now. I remember at Family Farm & Home they told me it was ok. It's grower something. The other two don't have this problem. Daisy has always been a lot smaller than the other two ever since I brought them home.

She's all wrapped now and seems comfortable. I think she's liking the individual attention

By the way Vicki, your daughter is SO adorable!!!

Ella Sharp museum, cascades...not much to do. Jackson is like a big mall...lots of places to eat and plenty of places to shop but that's about it!

Well, the first full day of Daisy's wrapping went pretty well! She managed to sneak out of it once, but I think that was because she decided to play in her water dish and got it wet! Little bugger!

Still only one egg a day. I can't believe out of all of these chickens (well, 12 are only a month or so old and living in the old coop) we only have one egg a day! They have lots of room, a comfy place in the "barn" with plenty more room and more food then I would know what to do with! There are rarely any fights and everyone seems happy! They are spoiled beyond imagination! Seriously, can everyone go into molting at once? UGH! We have upped everyone's protein intake to see if that helps!

Anyway, hope everyone had a good day!

HH- continuing my prayers for you! Keep your spirits up, it makes healing much easier.

My day of doing nothing turned into three days of building an outdoor duck shelter- I wanted to box off an area where they could be outside their house and not have a ton of snow this winter. Soooo, with no husband supervision. I built an 8 ft by 8ft by 7 ft shelter- complete with roof, and roosts. It connects to their house, and is inside the corner of the "L" that my own house makes. Its big enough that I may put walls on it in the Spring and make it the new coop/house. My coop is much smaller. My husband came home and said- "you moving in?" ha ha. Now I can't move my shoulders, but its done. The look on the woman at home depot's face was priceless. "What are you building?" "Duck house"..."a WHAT?" "what is it for?" (duh) "ducks..."....

Ungrateful ducks and chickens won't get near it. We will see, though, when the snow is out there blowing everywhere and is bill-deep, if they appreciate it.

My male muscovy and my male runner are on borrowed time. The runner is constantly chasing and trying to mate with my frizzle and naked chicken. The muscovy constantly tries to be "top duck" by chasing the runner. Yesterday evening, the two of them ganged up and decided to try and beat up Baby, my other male muscovy- who is the same size as the first male, and does nothing wrong. He is my favorite and the best looking. (I know, too many males. I wish they could be sexed as babies.)

The runner is really really the one in trouble. He won't leave the chickens alone. Five female ducks arent enough for him.

I have to work today all day and tomorrow but I have Thursday off...already can't wait...

Vicki-
OMG!! Those pictures are adorable! What a great shot of your daughter! Boston puppies...too too cute, makes me want one..I love when we see Boston's at work..wish I could bottle up their energy for myself. I love that breed.

Got two new ducks on Sunday - They must have adjusted well,,, got one egg yesterday and two this morning... The chickens are over their raccoon trauma and are laying full force. It should be a pretty day .. not many left .. I actually see the trees are changing on our road.

and this winter we are to see triple precipitation because of the Summer weather. 40 years ago we had 180 inches of snow and -20º for two weeks in February. I do not look forward to that kind of Winter. What do I expect for living way up here in the snow belt area? I see it will be really nice downstate too - Have a great day. I mean to make the most of it

Kim - I'm sorry you're still having trouble! Your two former residents have adjusted perfectly! I couldn't ask for a bunch of better ducks!

So, we now have Opie and Sadie, then Willie the 5 month old call, then the three 2 month old female calls. They are hilarious! I open the door so Sadie and Opie can walk around the yard. They never go out of sight of the duck run, but they sure love that grass! Sometimes the male call would walk around with them then fly back into the water (reminding me he needs his wings trimmed today!) then Opie and Sadie walks back in. Yesterday for the first time 5 ducks walked out of the pen (i have Daisy wrapped up and in the house) which lasted about 10 minutes, then they followed each other back into the pen.

They all swim together in the pond now too! Although when Sadie and Opie get to flapping their wings, the little ones get out lol. I was wishing I had my camera rolling the other day after Aric cleaned off the pool cover (what we use for the bottom of the pond) and re-filled the water. They all were flapping and jumping around like little kids at Christmas! OMG it was one of the funniest things I've ever seen!!

There is a door that separates the duck run from the chickens. My daughter gets a kick out of how every night I walk into the duck run, open that door and all 6 follow each other around the pond and through the door like a little train of ducks lol. They spend about 15 minutes with the chickens then walk up the ramp and into the barn for the night. They all sleep together in a corner.

I love watching these ducks! Almost every day I'll sit in a lawn chair with my coffee and just watch them! Opie and Sadie are a couple of comedians! I think they know I'm watching them because they're always doing funny things like they're showing off! lol

So again, thank you!!!
