Kim, I can SO relate to the dentist thing. Last Thurs a dental clinic had a free dental thing for anyone without insurance (I have Medicaid and Medicare, but doesn't cover dental...until the 1st), so I got up super early and was #10. I had two teeth pulled. Very soon they all need to go because I've been on anti-seizure meds since I was 18 months old and it's ruined my teeth and gums. Well, later that night the numbness went away (took 6 shots to numb me up!) and the pain felt different. Worse than usual! The pain kept getting worse, to the point of putting me in tears for hours!
Since Thurs I've had 2 bowls of noodle soup and 2 bowls of mashed potatoes. I sleep about 2 hours a night..sitting up! Well, to make a long story short, a friend of mine (very knowledgeable!) said it was a bone spicule. Basically a lose bone. After all my studying and talking to my friend Sara, I've learned that dentists are supposed to make sure (through x-rays, etc) that there's nothing left after they pull teeth. Spicules are very common, but most dentists find them before you leave the office. Problem is, this clinic was SO big (on the news, etc) and SO busy that a second exam never occurred.
Since Thurs I've taken over 40 pain meds, narcotic and OTC!! I was already losing my liver due to so many meds in my life so, yeah I'm sure this has made it worse. I can barely talk and my throat and ear is involved too! ER's won't touch it and finding a dentist that takes my insurance once it reinstates dental is impossible!! Ugh. It usually either comes out through the gums or evens out. Can't happen soon enough!!!
Ok, hopefully I haven't freaked you out, but this is a warning: if you have teeth pulled, PLEASE make the doc make sure everything is out!! This is a horrible lesson for me!!
I feel like my poor animals out there think I'm ignoring them! I went out to see them for a few mins today and my other two call babies are now quacking! Life is happening before me!!
Missed you all!!
