I think my cochins are laying again, although I'm not sure which one(s). I find a small egg in there every other day or so.

All my eggs are still frozen though. I think I may just have to hang out in the coop until the chickens lay.

Your partridge cochins? <rubs hands together excitedly> If I come hang out in the coop and catch the eggs as they come out of the birds' butts can I hatch 'em?

The seed catalogs are showing up in the mailbox in droves now. That'll tide me through those next 125 days, planning and seed starting.

Thank you for that bit of sunshine Opa but where are you hiding your usual handsome self? No avatar???? We miss that!

Keyt, glad your rabbit is better. I too was thinking maybe a hairball.

OliveHill and Krisrose -
We figured it was too humid in the nest box area, there was frost on the walls and ceiling, so we opened a window to air it out. I think a lot of it had to do with not opening the coop during that storm that passed through. She only gets up and out when she realizes the others have left the coop, then it's right back in to try and hatch fake eggs. I wonder if I'll get wooden chicks.

I've gotten a couple frozen eggs that split open along the side. They remind me of pistachios.

Well, it appears I spoke too soon. Gizmo has been staying on our porch (mud room) and every once in a while I let him out to run. I did so last night and he did the flopping over thing again...several times. He's eating like crazy...which he's actually done all along....drinking and pooping fine. He was hopping around normally but every once in a while he'd flop over to his back! He did it a few times while in his cage too. I don't get it! He doesn't act like he's in pain or anything!? Poor thing!

Got another afghan order today woohoo. It's for the American flag I made a while ago. Takes a while but it's a BIG money maker! I created a pattern for a shopping bag too so hopefully I can sell some of those.

If only it were 5 days from now. There are three nice does standing in my backyard.

My husband is going to give me SO much crap when he gets home about this. I keep telling him I have no desire or reason to take up muzzle loader hunting. I'm happy with my shotgun, thankyouverymuch. And now? If I were only acquainted with his muzzle loader all would be right in the world. And by "the world" I do mean my freezer.

Keyt it sounds to me like he has wry neck or an inner ear infection. Without seeing him I don't know really what to tell you but those are my best guesses. Does he hold his head tilted at all? Are his top lips drawn back? You may want to take a look in his ears and smell the inside to see if it has that infection smell to it. (would smell yeasty) If it's an infection you'll be able to treat it...unfortunately if it's wry neck it will only get worse.
